Planes rerouted for days because Pat Quinn enabled a pothead to indulge before setting fire to a single point of failure in Chicago's air traffic control infrastructure. Good luck in the election Pat.

“Obama will arrive on Wednesday evening and take the Marine One helicopter into Chicago, where he will stay overnight.”
Any bets that he actually stays at his House?

Note to Obama: Michael Jackson doesn’t live there any more. No chance of a photo opportunity.

*Obama will arrive on Wednesday evening and take the Marine One helicopter into Chicago*
That's because it's too dangerous to drive through Gary after 50 years of Democrat “leadership”

I guess his excellency has nothing important to consider these days as the Ebola incident is contained, Russia is quiet, ISIS is on the ropes, the economy is fixed, the southern border is controlled, etc. They should recast the constitution to allow for removal for High Times and misdemeanors.

Someone with knowledge of such please advise us that this is all for show and won’t make a bit of difference.

Maybe Obama is a big Michael Jackson fan, and wants to visit the home of the Jackson 5. Check another spot off his bucket list. First Stonehenge, now Gary, Ind.

Interesting. He’s giving the speech to students at the business school. Strange that a socialist would want to speak at a business school.

Gary has an airport? It can be seen when you take "The Skyway" to Chicago. From what I can see, it is a nice Airport. the Blue Angels / T-Birds us it when they do the Chicago Lakeshore Airshow.

Sure would be an opportune time to address the Thugs and the epidemic of Black on Black murder!
..but I'm sure he has more important things on his agenda.

Well I have not been there in at least 30 years, so.....

Actually, Gary is probably a better choice. It’s closer to downtown Chicago than O’Hare. I don’t know why it hasn’t been done before.

“Gary has an airport?”
Gary Airport is actually good-sized, and has a decent terminal. Over the years, I have taken a few commercial flights in and out of there.
It has been a political football for decades, though, with Chicago and Illinois pols fighting every attempt to make it a viable commercial passenger airport. Too many political crony favors to buy, by making remote Peotone the third Chicago Airport, instead.
The biggest problem all along has been direct highway access to I-90/The Chicago Skyway, which sits just south of the airport, (that Mitch Daniels was finally able to get done), and extending the runway to enable west coast flights.
Railroad tracks that blocked any runway expansion were controlled by the city of Chicago, and used to prevent expansion, but were sold a few years ago, and a relocation project for them is almost finished.
The Runway Project has faced several delays though, because the area where it is going was used as an illegal hazardous waste dumping zone for a 60 years. (Think Chicago mob). They call it “Heavy Industrial Legacies”, I kid you not.
The area is a mess, and bulldozers have uncovered large quantities of PCB’s, arsenics, leads, and oils. Something like 120,000 cubic yards of dirt and chemicals.
