One in five U.S. workers was laid off in the past five years and about 22% of those who lost their jobs still haven't found another one, according to a new survey that showed the extent Americans have struggled in the sluggish labor market since the Great Recession ended.

The Los Angeles Times is a leftist propaganda rag.

That said, America needs to stop importing everything from China.

Bring back jobs.

Wait, wait, wait.

I just heard Preezy Obola say just the other day that by most measures, the peeps are better off today than when he took office.

I guess this wasn't one of those measures.

Nor was the number of food stamps recipients.

Nor was the number of people who are no longer part of the workforce.

Nor was the number of people who have part-time jobs who once had full-time jobs.

Come to think of it. What did he use as a measuring stick?

Reminds me of that old Gary Shandling joke when he said he installed a mirror on the ceiling over his bed that said, "Objects in mirror are larger than they appear."

Sorry to hear that.

Jump back in to the job market right now.

In IT you’re much more hirable if your experience is very recent.

Good luck to you.

Don’t for a minute underestimate the significance of this.

We now have a much bigger population of people who are psychologically open to the idea of throwing capitalism under the bus.

If the US didn’t have such draconian tax laws and regulations, maybe they wouldn’t be moving overseas.

I’m getting a little tired of that routine.

Bring back American jobs.

If we need laws to equalize things, then we need laws. But stop just ... well, whining.

:D

Sorry that is not meant as a complete slam, but we really, really, really need to bring back American industry.

To America.

Just saying...

93,000,000 now out of work in America.

China meanwhile, is booming. Exporting more than America now.

And growing like mad.

The thing is, every single factory in China, is owned (majority owned) by a Chinese.

Every single one.

(to the best of my knowledge anyway, anyone, correct me if I am wrong here)

That’s been my average for over 20 years.

We’re far from the days when one could expect to work one job for their entire career. A job isn’t guaranteed: you’re selling someone a service for as long as they need it, and when they don’t you’d best be ready to convince another buyer.

“Bring back jobs”? The jobs go where the best balance of service & cost is. The predominant “pay me more because I exist” meme here is a big part of pushing jobs out to “I’ll do it for less than anyone else” cultures. Domestic laws raising costs, both financial & punitive, just make it harder. Eliminate busybody regulations, let employers pay what a job is worth, and get workers with an actual work ethic - THEN jobs will “come back”.

I get what you’re saying. Thanks for the feedback.

Do you get what I am saying?

Every single thing you buy these days, is made by people who work at a factory, which is majority owned by Communist Chinese. A factory which is staffed by Communist Chinese.

Many of which are ‘run’ by Americans. But that is it.

At least that is my impression. Anyone have any knowledge which is different from this?

Bigger font. You need to yell louder. If you yell loud enough then Cringing Negativism Network will give you one. <font size=+5> should work well. Maybe add a <b> too.

What I am trying to point out is that your objection or dismissal of the one reason that "American Jobs Are Not In America" is counterproductive to your cause.

It is similar to a man that demands a steak dinner and refuses to perform any of the steps to arrive at that steak dinner.

Well I am advocating for a return of jobs to America.

Not to worry, everyone else appears still to be ready to sell off ever more American assets to China.

So carry on.

Leftists will tell you it’s a good thing that 20% more of the population doesn’t “have to work” in order to live.

I’m getting a little tired of that routine.

That's funny! We're all getting tired of your routine.

Bring back American jobs.

You said that already, didn't it work?

If we need laws to equalize things, then we need laws.

What laws do we need?

But stop just ... well, whining.

Huh? I couldn't hear you over all your whining.
