Wesleyan Tells Frats They Must Admit Women by 2017

Connecticut’s Wesleyan University told campus fraternities Monday that they must support co-educational membership by 2017 or lose their official recognition at the school.

“With equity and inclusion in mind, we have decided that residential fraternities must become fully co-educational over the next three years,” administrators told students in a campus-wide email. “If the organizations are to continue to be recognized as offering housing and social spaces for Wesleyan students, women as well as men must be full members and well-represented in the body and leadership of the organization.”

Do Sororities not exist there?

Amazing anyone would write a news story and not answer that, the first question most readers would think of. Extremely sloppy 'journalism' or shameless PCness to not address the obvious question.

I posted another article where a “progressive” is quoted. I bet she thinks it is “progressive” to kill babies, I mean be pro-choice, too.

There is one sorority, but it is not residential. This policy only applies to residential organizations.

Fraternities used to be secret societies. They all maintain the trappings of secret societies with secret handshakes and recognition phrases.

For decades now colleges have “tamed” them by bringing them on campus and giving them campus housing and facilities. They’re all nice and domesticated now. This is just the final emasculation.

Maybe it’s time to revive the origins. They were once a defense against tyranny and oppression.

Not saying this is the right move (it’s not), but it’s the university’s choice.

Established fraternaties have national organizations which can recognize or not recognize local chapters. It'll be interesting to see how the national organizations react to moves such as this one.

The Left forces their agenda with a hammer.

"We must openly discuss the need to be consistent and unbending on our position against male supremacy within the ranks of both the Young Communist League and the Communist Party. Young women must be consciously brought up as leaders, and the language and men and women alike must confront patterns of sexism." --Communist Party USA

>> That cuts both ways - the fraternities have the freedom to choose who they will associate with, but the university (a private university) has the right to choose which organizations they will and will not recognize

The university is still subject to title IX. It’s time for males to start using that law as a weapon like the feminazis have.

Good grief. Most frats have no problem admitting women - it’s getting them back out and somewhere near their dorms that’s the problem.

It’s only fair that EVERY club, group, organization, corporation, sports team, neighborhood, military unit, etc should have the EXACT same demographic composition in their membership: one white, one black, one woman, one man, one homo, one tranny, one Indian, one Asian, one Latino, etc etc. Of course, some people will be allowed to fill 2 or more required slots, but every club must be the EXACTLY the same. It’s only fair.

And instead of posters of the modern day Farrah Fawcett, the males will be required to have shirtless images of some dude in order to offset any images of attractive women.

Now if every frat house sets its own by-laws, then the first law should be the frat house is a topless zone.

That is why some Nutmeggers calls it ‘LEFTLYAN’. Wesleyan makes Yale look Conservative.

No wonder the girls want to move in

I'm sure some of the girls would love to get in so they could get away from the dykes.
