Is FreeRepublic Pro Harry Reid?
Vanity | 9/17/2014 | Vanity

Posted on 09/17/2014 4:36:52 PM PDT by Kansas58

A very disturbing number of Freepers are openly advocating, on Free Republic threads, for the defeat of Senator Pat Roberts and other good Conservative Republicans. Greg Orman, in Kansas, is a pro abortion, anti gun, tax and spend Liberal Democrat who has given tens of thousands of dollars to Obama and Pelosi and the Democrat Party and Harry Reid. I am called an "idiot" for supporting Roberts. However, I think that those on Free Republic who support Harry Reid and Greg Orman should be ZOTTED, kicked off the site. I have had enough of there hate filled, vindictive, misguided trash.

“Which Demonrats? The Reid/Pelosi Demonrats or the McConnell/Boehner Demonrats in Republican drag?”

I am not as cynical as you, nor as pessimistic, and of those two pair would take the R’s over Reid and Pelosi.

Reid and Pelosi and evil.

Boehner and McConnell are lost and fallen and broken and weak and corrupt.

Obviously I’d rather have West/Palin.

It’s an imperfect world.

I voted against Mitt Romney in my state primary. Are you saying I sinned when I voted for him in the general election? President Obama supports unlimited, government sponsored and promoted (!) abortion on demand at any time for any reason. As a state senator, President Obama actually voted to kill babies who somehow survived the procedure!

In the general election, Mitt Romney was the only candidate with a realistic chance of beating Obama. Again, I’m not talking about primaries where RINOs like Mitt should be exterminated! No. I believe Mitt Romney was (is) pro-abortion, but he’s clearly no Obama in my book. Are you saying I’m evil for voting to stop Obama the best way I could at the time?

BTW, I will not do what Kansas58 did and accuse you of sin by not compromising. I don’t think blood is on your hands any more than it’s on mine. We both want abortion gone. It sickens me to even think of it! If you believe it’s sin to vote for someone like Romney to stop an Obama, please don’t vote for Romney! I’m sure we both know it’s wrong to cause a brother or sister to stumble. Do what you believe the Lord wants—always!

Batting crazy around is sometimes too easy.
I liked the “opposing this equals supporting it” gambit.

Ask him. Then ask South40 about it because south nailed him cold. less than 2 months ago. then tell me why posting anti fence crap from Laraza qualifies as being good during an invasion.

Sorry Laz. It happened and there is no excuse for it.

There is STILL hope when people like you and I get involved (and I am in the older regions of the millennial generation)-I am involved in the Republican Party, and actually have worked in politics, so..

Hopefully that situation will CHANGE in the future, DON’T give up, friend!

I will say one last thing on this.

The GOP is NOT entitled to YOUR Vote. Make them earn it!

Your Vote is Yours! No Theirs and no one else.

Well, it's a her, first of all. And secondly, no matter what was posted, I know her views on illegal immigration. I know her personally. Her views are like ours.

So stand down, soldier. You don't have enough reloading skills to keep yourself in ammunition. ;)

I will vote for ANY candidate that hits the traditional 80% mark and follows the Republican platform. Which they should all be doing since it’s their platform. Which puts a lie to the ‘purist crap’. I have said that since day 1.

Mitt could not make a blip on the scale much less hit 80% and we all know it. No one can find an instance of his having committed an act of conservatism. Even Obama was opposed to homo marraige once. Mit said he’s be better than kennedy so he doesn’t even have that.

And 80% means that one in five times the conservative votes leftist. That is hardly pure. Or an unreasonable standard.

And please folks, before you go there, spare me the ACU manipulated ratings. If someone votes ‘right’ after spending weeks trashing the issue in question, that ain’t a plus in their checkbox.

I don’t know the particulars. I cannot speak to that. All I can speak to is that she is a solid conservative. She is one of us.

That was a, er, unique interpretation of his.
I was genuinely curious as to what he was trying to say besides the odious idea that we must accept evil as opposing it was support of it.

ifinnegan:

So, you urge that regardless of how leftist a GOP nominee may be (i.e. gun-grabbing, pro-abort, pro-gay agenda, tax hiking, medical system grabbing, etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseam Romney) conservatives somehow OWE their votes to such candidates. That explains where RINO comes from and CINO as well. AINO for American in Name Only may apply as well.

Promoting GOP-E candidates and actually voting for them and urging others to do so is where "bootlicker" comes in.

POS is amply covered by paragraphs 1 and 2 above. This is not just some debating society. When you want to inflict upon the United States of America such trash as Obozo OR Myth Romney as POTUS, you have become part of the problem and not part of the solution.

Tea time. Go to the parlor and get some watercress sandwiches and some Earl Grey and have your butler tuck you in so that you won't have to deal with those awful conservative and often Christian barbarians.

Nihilists were among the precursors to the soviet revolution and the communist takeover of pre-Franco Spain. Myth would have joined them if he had been in the correct place at the correct time to take opportunist advantage. Conservatives and Christians are the ones who killed the Spanish communists, anarchists and nihilists, sometimes quite colorfully and, ummm, splashily.

You are embarrassed enough already and I will extend the kindness of not taking shameless advantage of your confidence in Huntsman, another grotesque RINO. Considering your enthusiasm for Romney and Huntsman, you might consider writing a book entitled: What's the Matter with Utah?

OTOH, is your screen name an indication that, like me, you are Irish by ancestry? Do your political views suggest that, if you had your way, they would STILL be singing God Save the Queen in the pubs of Michael Collins' City and County of Cork?

Yes, me too, maybe tomorrow.

I perused a few of the comments from the now zotted RINO offender’s professorial sounding BS, and found something like spitting and turning blue in a tantrum were a real temptation for me.

Yes.

I think the platform is an important distinction between the two parties.

I know what you mean about Romney. I never supported him or was fooled.

The GOPe were warned that he could not win.

And, he didn’t.

Still, I did not want Obama to win and would rather have a Venture Capitalist amoral do or say anything to win than the Community Organizer hardcore Marxist Islamist Obama.

Romney, though, proved himself not to be as hardcore in his amorality or spine as he pretended. In 2012 he did not do or say anything to win. He wimped out

I agree with the observations that the GOPe fight harder against the Tea Party than the Dems.

Here is the crazy thing. Romney is probably the favorite for 2016 Rep nomination. It’s insane.

Those guys never give up.

“Mitt could not make a blip on the scale much less hit 80% and we all know it.”

I have to agree with you there. Mitt was a terrible candidate. Whether one thinks it’s OK to vote for a lesser evil or not, it’s kinda hard to drag someone like Mitt across the finish line.

I never, ever said it was a good idea for the moderates to nominate folks like Romney in the first place. In fact, I’m still kind of amazed that they thought they had a winning strategy with that one. Of course, they’re doing it again this election, and it may very well cost us the senate.

I really, really want someone I can enthusiastically support, but all I keep getting are milquetoast moderates. Before you blame me, I’m not responsible for the poor candidates any more than you. I had no control whatsoever over Obama’s nomination, and I voted against Romney in the primary.

I said nothing of the sort and I do not feel you are being intellectually honest with regard to what I have said or my position.

BTW, my last name is Irish but I am American 100%. I am a 100% old time American mix. Neither of my grandmothers even knew what country their ancestors came from, it was so far back when they came.

My German ancestors were Documented patriots in the American Revolution, having participated from Tennessee in what was then N Carolina.

Those conservatives who stayed home and didn't vote for Mittens gave us 0bama's second term knew that if Mittens won, they'd be responsible.

If Mitt had won and was doing EXACTLY what you would expect him to do, advancing government on every front defined by Democrats, from gay marriage to state-run health care with on-demand abortion, more and bigger government on every front as per Romney's documented record, would you be anywhere taking responsibility for what you voted FOR?

Because the only thing that counts is what you vote for.

Some of us have FINALLY figured it out. You are yet in darkness.
