According to Giuseppe DiBella, his 6-month-old toy fox terrier, Nika, vanished from the backyard of his Newburgh, New York, home in May 2012.

“It was one of the most horrible days of my life,” DiBella told New York's CBS 2.

We kept her inside for the first two years but she started running out the door with the dog and older cat. Eventually we just let her outside for two hours a day. She would come running out of the woods whenever I called her name. I just hope she doesn’t suffer.

“DiBella’s family friend in Florida is caring for Nika until the pair can be reunited.”

Is the “family friend” actually also the perp (the dog was taken to their state) and the family just doesn’t understand, realize or know that yet? Just speculating.

Yes,I understand. We had a huge beautiful Maine Coon who wanted to go outside. He was middle aged and neutered and didn’t leave the yard and one day he was run over in our drive way while sleeping under a car. Very sad, I am so sorry about your cat but it may surprise you and come home.
