One word: Control. Liberals want to control everyone and everything and force their vision of a liberal utopia on all of us.
Remember, Scotland wants to break off because England isn't liberal enough! ( I know, I know!)
I didn’t realize that, but my understanding is that it is the young Scottish socialists that want independence.
Liberals usually hate nationalism and would prefer a single global government.
I’m more concerned about why the Commies are all for it.

Scotland has, from what I hear, a government more socialist than England’s. As Margaret Thatcher said, “socialism only works until you run out of other peoples money.” I ‘m sure liberals are against Scotland leaving because, without the infusion of other peoples money, the government won’t be able to run on it’s own.
Yep...and they know that the welfare state will fail...miserably. At first I was against for that reason, now I am for it. I love the Scots. They have to feel the pain of stupidity to get right.

They think that having even ONE country in the whole world that is not socialist will cause socialism in the rest to fail... and they right about that because it exposes the house of cards they built their Neo-Feudalism on...
Europe has a bunch of naval bases there and it would be a sh8tload expensive to have to move them.
Many libs care because they want one-world government. It is so much easier to impose global communism if it’s just a question of taking over in free and fair elections, one man, one vote, one time, while the other side is not paying attention or looking for stealth candidates. It’s the same issue that motivates many conservatives to support Scotland’s independence - the precedent may make it easier for the patriotic states to secede from the USA (or evict the leftist states) to maintain freedom where the Constitution and our constitutional rights are still popular.
Yep the Scottish Socialists are the ones pushing this.
I am actually rooting for it, so liberals can be reminded again why socialism doesn’t work. Because if this passes, Scotland’s economy is going to go into the toilet faster than you can imagine.
I was joking with some leftist friends about Scottish Independence. I said, if they can do it, why can’t Upstate NY break-away and leave NY and Long Island to form another state?
Its because libs plans all rest on using political and financial control of the largest number of people to push their agenda.
BTW - its also why the Federal Reserve is the absolute foundation of the Progressive State.
It takes them one step backward from the one-world totalitarian government toward which we have been progressing for the past 100 years.
I don’t think that is necessarily true. The liberals, particularly the ones in Scotland, desperately want to become independent so Scotland can be even more leftist. They already have a timetable to move nukes off their soil and everything. They can’t wait.
Most of them are worried that once this gets started, many countries will split up.
If in America, states decide they want no part of a massive leftist state, the left might lose the hosts that do all the paying to feed the parasites.
They’re not. I hope are aware that Scottish independence is supported most strongly by the left within Scotland, particularly the Code Pink left, because they want the US military presence out, feel that the UK has cooperated too much with the US, and also are hoping to stop development because it’s RUUUIIINING the “environment.”
Oh...and Scotland has a huge welfare population and a larger Muslim population than most of the rest of England, so you’re just seeing the left at play behind Scottish independence.
Because if all an area has to do is perform a simple up or down vote to get out of a 300 year old political union, they know they are screwed. The libtards have to hold it together to perform their transfer economics voodoo, if all the producers have to do is take a vote on whether or not to leave, that’s a show stopper for them.
Regardless of how the Scottish vote comes out tomorrow, I’d say the cat’s out of the bag. This is going to have longterm ramifications in all sorts of odd places around the globe.
Western New York is probably paying very close attention, especially those with strong interests in developing fracking. The Kurds? Hungarians in Romania? Brittany in France? Barcelona? Western Australia? If the Scots can vote, why can’t they?
Seems to me that no one is looking at the deeper issues behind it.
From where I sit, Britain should open up access to the vast mineral wealth of Scotland and crush the Scottish socialists in one fell swoop.
This is a no-brainer: because Scottish independence is a step back from world government. I’m surprised that a Freeper even needs to ask the question.
