The San Francisco 49ers have suspended team radio broadcaster Ted Robinson two games for remarks he made about Ray Rice and domestic violence this week.
While talking about Rice during a segment on KNBR-AM on Monday, Robinson had this to say about Rice's wife Janay, "How does she marry him after that? How does she go in front of Goodell? That's pathetic to me," Robinson said.

It is outrageous that they suspended the announcer for asking his very appropriate and timely question, a question which anyone in their right mind might have even worded less delicately - such as why in the world did she stay with the thug?
Who is that thug “organization” trying to protect - their thug player or the person in their “organization” who failed to mention that the only recently released video of the creep knocking the woman out cold, had actually been delivered and acknowledged as being received by them many weeks ago?

I don’t know the law but does the woman (in this case) have to press charges or can there be an arrest separately?

It is getting to where, someone sits around and waits for someone to say something truthful, then gets offended

That’s pretty much where we’re at.

This crap is coming to a head. Wait till all the ball players ask the same question. Robinson should resign and tell the league +49ers where to go. Instead he apologizes. Go figure.

Now if Mr. Robinson said that she did the right thing to ‘stand by her man’ despite getting knocked out, he would have gotten suspended for three games probably.
Political correctness makes no sense at all; it’s become a tool to destroy people and their livlihoods.

(Oh, by the way ... Tony Stewart murdered a guy last month. He was a 20 year old nobody (probably a redneck), so no outrage.) I'm quite sure he didn't murder the guy. You believe he intended to kill him?

Why does everybody keep calling this domestic violence. Because it fits under the legal definition in the statute. They were in an established relationship; marital status and the actual location of the incident are largely irrelevant.

It really is none of his business. I am sick of these sanctimonious liberal sports announcers pontificating about social issues. He was right to apologize.
"I want to unconditionally apologize for my comments the other day," Robinson said in a statement. "As a professional communicator, I am responsible for my words. My choice of words was careless and does not reflect my true feelings about domestic violence. I understand that the cycle of abuse keeps people in unhealthy relationships. No blame or responsibility for domestic violence should ever be placed on a victim."

The intent is to "protect" someone in an abusive relationship, whether or not there is a marriage. The effect is to arrest men for felonies when they commit any act, however minor, which might harm or frighten a female they are married to or are in a relationship with, and to serve them with temporary restraining orders and disarm them. The domestic violence laws are anti-male in conception and enforcement.

Maybe cause it happens all the time in Atlantic City. If he was Joe Blow nobody would have even noticed and he would not had been charged either.

Right.
It's reported that Godell made 44 million dollars with the NFL last year. That's over 100,000 dollars per day.
For 100,000 dollars per day he couldn't be bothered to ask Rice's attorney for a copy of the tape?
Coverup from beginning to end. Not sure I understand why, though.

The 49ers may catch some heat for suspending the 57-year-old play-by-play man. The team made the decision that Ray McDonald will be allowed to play while he's investigated for felony domestic violence.
Personal opinions are very dangerous things to have these days. Offending someone has become a worse crime than physically committing one.
I said during the Sterling news that he would have been better off if he would have punched his girlfriend instead of making race-based comments. I believe he'd still have his team today.

Laws may vary in States. But generally, the police can make the arrest regardless of whether or not she will press charges. Plus, again while the law may vary in some states, the prosecutors may put him on trial anyway.

She is a “DC”. To make any truth statements is not Politically Correct. The thug culture is what it is about. A punk with money and a thug mentality. He is just the tip of the so-called “iceberg”.
