We meet the nattily-dressed gaming exec who stole the show at the Apple launch - and inspired a stream of online parodies Dutch gamer Tommy Krul appeared on stage wearing a purple knitted infinity scarf ... Colleagues said the scarf reflected his mindset of 'making something as beautiful and distinct as possible' He would not say if he is single

The iPhone 6 may have been the headliner, but gaming executive Tommy Krul stole the show at yesterday’s Apple event.

Dressed in a faded button down with a purple knit infinity scarf, he was brought on stage at the packed event to demo a game his company developed called Vainglory. ... All eyes quickly focused on Tommy.

‘Skip the phone, I want to know where this guy got that incredible scarf ensemble’ Twitter user ‘@RyanMaue posted. ... Shortly after moving to California, Tommy joined with a group of fellow gaming enthusiasts to found Super Evil Megacorp in 2012. The company’s first release is a sci-fi fantasy themed multiplayer online battle game named Vainglory.

It’s no surprise that Tommy himself is an avid gamer. He writes that his video game development company is ‘by gamers, for gamers’ and takes his work very seriously.

One photo he posted of his laptop propped up on a sunny table in San Francisco is captioned with the comment, ‘To be clear, as lovely as the weather was, and granted, out of view there may have been a mimosa, I was still working on a Sunday ;-p.’ ... Tommy himself told MailOnline that he has only just learned of his internet fame. ... 'I often wear scarves, it's funny.'

I want to know what an ‘infinity scarf’ is - actually, no I don’t.

Please don’t tell me, okay? I don’t want to be that hip.

It says a lot about our society that fellows like this are considered “hot” or some kind of ideal man, presumably by other voters. Partly explains how we ended up with such a tough guy in the White House.

I am going to tell you anyway. I can assure you that knowing what it is will not make you hip or turn you into a metro-sexual. You will need a little more than that knowledge to do the trick. An infinity scarf is simply one where the ends of the rectangular scarf are sewn together, making a loop instead of a rectangle.

Actually, it’s not sewn together. It’s knit that way. Not as much of a dandy boy as you though, now are you?
