Fox News is reporting that employer-provided health care plans may be a thing of the past.

Former Obama health adviser Zeke Emanuel predicted that Obamacare will replace 80 percent of employer-provided health plans will disappear in 10 years.

“It’s going to actually be better for people. They’ll have more choice,” Emanuel said. “Most people who work for an employer and get their coverage through an employer do not have choice.” …

re: I’ll believe it when the public employees of America give up their employer provided health coverage and go on ObamaCare.

They are the remaining 20%.

you have a lot more faith in the average corporation than I do.

I am fairly certain that 90% of employers that cut health coverage will not raise the salaries of employees to compensate. They will use 1 of 1000 excuses for why, but the result will be the same. You will be earnings the same as yesterday, but now you wont have free health coverage, and instead will have to go buy it from Obama.

The sad irony is that the Obama Admin used employers picking up the increased cost of Obamacare so employees would not see any real change in their coverage/premium contributions as a selling point.

Most who could see beyond the rhetorical lies ["If you like you plan ..." and "If you like your doctor ..."] knew the cost would eventually work itself around to the pockets of individuals.

If the likes of Zeke Emanual and Barack Obama were really concerned about regular folks, the economy would be booming, government would be smaller, EPA would be extinct, virtually all of the law and regs that have been passed during Obama’s tenure would be repealed, unions would be eradicated from government bureaucracies and schools, leftists would be purged from all colleges and universities, and elementary, high schools would actually be educating our kids, and you could walk down the streets unafraid in Chicago and St. Louis. The fact that none of this has come to pass makes Zeke and Barry and the rest of their leftist thief/murderer club baldfaced liars.

He apparently opposes legalizing euthanasia—for now.

For now, is right! The real fun begins when Dr. Zeke and his buds advocate for mandatory euthanasia....along with the right of decision as to who 'gets it'.

“Unlimited tax free health savings accounts that are portable and transferable to heirs. Allow employers to pay into these accounts. Back that up with a catastrophic coverage plan and remove state by state restrictions to create more competition. Most prices would drop like a rock.”

I agree with this entirely. This won't cover catastrophic health care issues, like a bone marrow transplant for specific malignancies, but it would pay for a lot. Catastrophic health care costs could be covered by much more affordable insurance.

Further, let physicians and health care facilities compete with each other directly. We are doing just the opposite now - with private physicians and smaller hospitals and specialty centers being consumed by large and ever-growing hospital corporations.

Employers dont have to provide healthcare benefits and more since the economy is so bad. Its easy to keep employees when they are terrified of unemployment. The law of unintended consequences works for the employer.

“It’s actually going to be better”. That’s the only lie you really need to hear.

You do have choices. You can get a different job if the health care choices are so bad. Under government control of health care there is nowhere else to go.

rahms vile brother is the one that told us that these plans would ultimately have to “attenuate” the provided healthcare as we age,

Translation: as you get older, you will simply be EOL counseled to go home and die, (unless of course your politically connected george sorors and then you will be first in line to get that blood transfusion, new kidney or heart) the rest of us who may be old or incapacitated in some manner will become useless eaters to the all-powerful, all-knowing, all-wise state,

watch how euthanasia options will also begin to be naturally proffered up alongside as we continue down this descent into deathcare hell,

there is nothing new here, margaret sanger harris would be proud of zeke,

Exactly right. The money that’s used by employers to pay the majority of a health plan will just disappear. That’s really part of one’s wages now, just diverted towards the premium.

It’s called a “benefit” for a reason. It’s part of your overall compensation for working for Company A. When they get rid of it all together and dump people onto Obamacare every full time employee takes a pay cut.
