"He has the ability to play someplace. It's gotta be the right place, it's gotta be a fit."

Here is his "fit".

At least he still has “love” to get him through the hard times (you can decide on whether there is a pun in there - the hamster isn’t talking).

Wonder how long the trophy boyfriend will stick around now that the gravy train has jumped the tracks.

The ruckus around Sam is identical to the ruckus that surrounded Tebow. Both players were elevated by external forces. Neither had the ability to play in the NFL.

I’m with ya. Rush used to say that the great thing about sports was that it was something you could invest everything in for a while with no consequence at all. That is certainly no true now that the libs have politicized everything.

Good riddance to the loud mouth

Difficult for a mouth to be loud when it is otherwise occupied.

Neither had the ability to play in the NFL.

Tebow in fact:

was a 1st round pick ...
played in the NFL ...
won a division title ...
started a playoff game ...
WON a playoff game

Sam didn't make the team

There was no reason to draft Sam in the first place. For years we’ve been told by the bobblehead sports media that Jeff Fisher is a “great coach,” or a “good football man,” etc. But where’s the evidence?

It’s time for a beer summit with Fisher and Sam.

Let’s face it, Sam blew it. And given the opportunity again, he would blow it. It’s his natural instinct.

Yeah, I fully expect there will be some “hissy fit” over him being cut. Would not be surprised if some team ends up taking him due to the pressure. Maybe the Redskins?

“It’s not a great stretch to suppose that the St Louis franchise owners are homophobes. Isn’t that the standard Leftist response for this kind of “news”?”

Ready for the tie in? Wasn’t this the franchise that was being purchased by a group, where Rush would have been an owner?

The purchase was boycotted, the deal killed and the same people who falsely accused Rush is the group responsible for cutting Sam. Where are the players now?

More unintended consequences.... I love it.

In the age of television and the internet, sports is now a very large segment of the entertainment industry. It's not "sports" anymore.

The end result is that it has taken on all of the idiotic trappings of the movie and television industries -- with drama, stories about stories, people with high public profiles who become subjects of stories for no reason that has anything to do with the work they do, etc.

The only thing missing right now is the sports edition of Entertainment TonightPeople magazine ... although I guess that's what ESPN and ESPN Online have become.

And in retrospect, Michael Sam's public comments immediately after the draft ... when he said he should have been drafted much higher than the seventh round ... make him look absolutely retarded.

I'm not even sure this guy is cut out to be a "professional homosexual" like Ellen DeGeneres, either.

Very few NFL teams allow their head coach to draft their players. It's often a subject of disagreement between a coach and a general manager or player personnel director.

Interestingly, some great coaches have taken new jobs that offer a dual role as a GM and head coach, and have done poorly in that role. Bill Parcells comes to mind. He was a great coach who ended up leaving the Giants because he was often at odds with GM George Young back in the 1980s and early 1990s, but he wasn't such a great GM himself.
