Plane that took off from Waukesha airport crashes into ocean

Aircraft descended into ocean about 50 miles southeast of Wallops Island, Virginia

WAUKESHA, Wis. —A plane that took off from the Waukesha County Airport in Wisconsin has crashed into the Atlantic Ocean.

The pilot had not been responding to radio calls since 1 p.m. EDT.

Two F-16 fighter jets under the direction of North American Aerospace Defense Command assisted the FAA with the unresponsive aircraft prior to the crash.

I love flying the SR20, and 22....I am impressed with the range these planes get....similar to my (former) trusty steed; Mooney M20E.

That airport isn’t that big, surprised a plane from there could make it past the coast without refueling.

More than likely a loss of cabin pressure at altitude.

Patrick Hutchinson tells FOX6 News his father, Ronald was Harley-Davidson’s Senior Vice President for 35 years — saying he retired recently.

Ronald Hutchinson has been flying for 43 years, according to his son.

Harley-Davidson issued the following statement to FOX6 News:

“Ron’s contributions to Harley-Davidson were significant during his many years with the company. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Hutchinson family as we mourn his loss.”
