That would have to be late late 60’s. The first flight of a 747 was 1969.

If you didn’t live through those times, you don’t ever want to read an in-flight menu or see photos of the food on a flight like that.

Even as late as the 80s flying was a comfortable experience. I flew in a Piedmont L1011 that was quite enjoyable!

I was a flight attendant with TWA in the early 1960’s and really miss those days. Most noticeable from the PAN-AM pic, other than the spaciousness, is the presence of real food, people who dressed up to fly and the absence of anything electronic. People actually talked to one another back then during a flight, rather than staring mindlessly at some electronic device. Nice to see reminders of more pleasant times. Thanks for sharing.

Is that a 777? Doesn’t look like a 747.

Yes, men did wear suits and women wore dresses with stockings and heels on planes in those days. One had to be relatively well-off to fly then.
I am always shocked to see what is on planes today...and it can be shocking...sometimes people are barely dressed, unkempt, smelly, etc. It is a different crowd and a different experience.
It was once a classy, enjoyable luxury....no more.

The original image is Pan-Am propaganda created in a studio somewhere; it’s not a real aircraft.
