Roadrunner ....Bleep, Bleep!
Dudley Dooright, with Natasha and Boris.
Bugs Bunny “Hillbilly Hare” is my all time favorite & second favorite was any Hillbilly Bears. Pa Bear was hilarious. Newspaper cartoons all time favorite? Pogo “we has met the enemy” and second one would be Calvin and Hobbs. Funniest Calvin & Hobbs was Hey Mom where’s the water hose {not shown in newspapers} lol.
GO TEAM VENTURE!!!
Looney Tunes, and my favorite of those is “Rabbit of Seville”
The tops have to be the classic Bugs Bunny cartoons. "What's Opera Doc?", "Rabbit Seasoning", "Duck Amuck", and "One Froggy Evening" being of my particular favorites.
The first few seasons of SpongeBob were great, the newer ones are not nearly as good.
My favorites:
Where SpongeBob tries desperately to find out what Patrick has in his “Secret Box”.
The Sailor Mouth episode with the “sentence enhancers.”
The first time he takes his driving test with Mrs. Puff. (Oh SpongeBob, Why?)
Any episode featuring Plankton.
Any episode with Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.
I don’t remember the name (I’m sure some FReeper does though which is why I’m posting this; in hopes of getting a response):
It was about the earth in the future where a large meteor passed between the earth and the moon splitting the moon in half and causing huge tsunamis to flood the whole world destroying all civilization. The series was about this group of people with magical powers who fought “the bad guys” (I don’t even remember who they were or fighting for anymore).
Anyway I found it fascinating as a kid in the late 70’s early 80’s because it seemed so fantastical. This was wayy before the whole 2012 hype or anything like that so I thought of this cartoon at that time and thought the whole hype for it was funny for that reason. It seemed funny to me to get all hyped up about what amounted to a cartoon fantasy to me.
I’ve been trying to remember its name ever since.
Not necessarily in order of appeal.
Phineas and Ferb
Futurama
The Simpsons
Rocky and Friends
Deputy Dog
Wacky Races
(Does CGI count?)
Penguins of Madagascar
Ever watch Gravity Falls? That show is an onion and I don’t mean that it is smelly. It’s got more layers than the strata of the Grand Canyon!
Looney Toons and Ren & Stimpy.

MIGHTY MOUSE!
Where else did children get cartoons with OPERA?
Interesting how many of the older cartoon mentioned were takeoffs on serious cultural entities. We had culture back then, not the trash we have now!
But I also really love some of the Pixar Studios animated shorts.
Many of them were released as bonus features on the DVD releases of movies like Toy Story. My little nieces loved them (and there is nothing in them that the little ones couldnt watch and enjoy), but so did us adults as some of the humor went over the little kids heads and some reminded us of the classic Warner Brother cartoon shorts of our childhood.
What I really like about them is how they tell a story in a very short amount of time (4-5 minutes) and without any spoken dialogue. Some of them are silly and funny and some are rather sweet and poignant.
