Please check http://www.dcclothesline.com/2014/10/05/80-penn-state-students-monitored-ebola/

Penn State University officials have identified 80 international students on various campuses who may have been exposed to the Ebola virus while visiting the infected countries of West Africa. In compliance with the guidelines issued by the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention, these students are being monitored for symptoms of the Ebola virus.

Flies.

Could ebola be spread by flies that land on corpses or on bodily fluids from ebola victims, which flies then land on healthy humans?

Maybe that is how those healthcare workers get infected despite wearing protective gear when treating the sick.

Thanks so much for all you do.

I’d like to know exactly how they know that Ebola is not transferable until a person has a fever.

A fever is a symptom, not a cause. The fever is the result of the disease. And, people react differently to disease. Some people get a massive fever from the flu, some don’t. People taking drugs that reduce fever will not react the same as people who do.

Did they study ebola victims taking their temperature and blood and bodily fluid samples at the same time before they got the disease and after? Then documented that bodily fluids show the presence of the disease exactly at the same time as temperature gores to 100.4 F.?

Modeling the Impact of Interventions on an Epidemic of Ebola in Sierra Leone and Liberia

“...Findings: Model forecasts until Dec. 31, 2014 show an increasingly severe epidemic with no sign of having reached a peak. Modeling results suggest that increased contact tracing, improved infection control, or a combination of the two can have a substantial impact on the number of Ebola cases, but these interventions are not sufficient to halt the progress of the epidemic. The hypothetical pharmaceutical intervention, while impacting mortality, had a smaller effect on the forecasted trajectory of the epidemic.”
