With so much questionable in all of this, the default reaction is "What are those idiots up to now?". Having something done that actually makes sense really trips a flag.

I don't trust TPTB either. What was credited with bringing this person to the attention of everyone was that the lab worker allegedly bragged about handling Duncan's samples for lab work.

Anyone on board who had been paying attention would be seriously concerned, and that would snowball.

Why this person was on a cruise ship instead of on shore being watched, I do not pretend to know.

Hmmmm.

So much about this story doesn’t add up. Why the mede-vac plane in Belize? Why did Kerry try to get Belize to give OK to pick woman up off ship and fly her straight to air ambulance, yet Belize said “no”. Why all the stories of woman showing symptoms now changed to “perfectly healthy, self-isolated out of (say it with me) “an abundance of caution”?

Now this?? Seems that they need to have her tested to see if they need to quarantine the ship and its pax. Sheer speculation, but makes sense.

Back a thousand years ago when I was in nursing school the world was different. We didn’t have HIPPA ..we had ethics. They were taught. They were abided by. IF we violated them we were FIRED. PERIOD. No excuses were tolerated. Now we don’t know that she bragged. But IF she did she needs to find another line of work.

No one is without flaws- but if keeping secrets is hard for someone they ought not go into the medical field.

According to this reporter just back from Liberia the death toll is being greatly under-reported.

can you imagine how guilty you would feel as a lab worker ruining a 7 day cruise for 3000 people... i feel guilty over making someone with fewer items in the grocery store waiting a few minutes more... haha

I don’t think she feels guilty at all, unfortunately. My good idea/bad idea meter would peg at “BAD BAD BAD” if I thought about doing this.

yea, you might be right... if she had the tendency to feel guilty (like a normal person) you probably wouldn’t be on the cruise to begin with.

With the bulk of the 3000 PAX having flown in for the cruise we now face a multiple shotgun blast dispersing them far and wide. How many connecting flights, how much waiting between flights? Hopefully, we miss the bullet this time, but next time...?

Add a portion of the 1500 crewmembers that won’t return to the ship, bet it’s bit more than the usual rate. These people will mostly disappear from the radar altogeher.

Thirteen years or so of DHS, the Patriot act, TSA,and scads of $$ spent only to find that each and every one of these FEDs less competant than a clown car fire drill.

Well, at least we got a bunch of MRAPS into local LEO hands. ;>(
