An Article V convention seems to be the only way to stop Ubama. If we don't stop him soon...

Obama would just ignore any changes to the Constitution like he ignores the Constitution itself.

The processes under discussion need to be planned.

Obama is no longer a practical part of the discussion. Yes, he ought to be removed from office, as he is neither physically nor mentally capable of executing its requirements. Perhaps as he gets crazier and crazier over the next two years that could happen. Palin calls it the "End of The Obama Error," and yes, it COULD happen.

But the structural, anti-federal reforms needed go far beyond the needs of the next two years, or any one President. This series of reforms may take place over 5 or even 10 years.

As I’ve said, it’s worth a shot for sake of due diligence.

See my post in this thread for a legal and constitutional coup d'etat to oust Obama.

"Forget about the Queensbury Rules"

That's fine, but it's not a reason to do nothing. It's just a reason to be prepared.

But I still say the sky ain't falling.

An Article V convention is not a Constitutional Convention. It can only propose amendments. No amendment thus proposed becomes law unless ratified by the states. The Article V process poses no greater threat to the Constitution than the Congress’s power to propose amendments.

" Could we wind up with a Gay Marriage Amendment?"

We're getting one NOW!

"How can we exclude the left"

Amendments must be ratified by a 3/4th majority of states. That's 38. So any 13 could stop the left.

And the sub-text is: The shaving woman and the distracted ex-husband are just as important as saving the country from an illegal alien foreign agent in the White House.

The Tea Party, talk radio, old media, etc. cannot distinguish government from politics.

Politics, meaning the ways men employ the institutions of government, is far more interesting and media worthy than governing philosophies and the nature of man’s relationship to government. The daily political blah, blah is presented as a sporting event, who is on offense or defense, which side is winning/losing.

Left out of the discussion, (outside of Mark’s show, and Rush’s today) is any realization that the structure of government matters as much as the virtue or vice of the people we send to DC.

Our efforts should be directed at our state reps and senators. They know very well the condition of our republic.

Noble ideas.

Will require the will to use force to implement them because the Oligarchy will REFUSE to abide by these if by some miracle they are passed and not rejected and null and void (which they will be)- if not outrightly usurped and trounced before the Amendments ever reach the states themselves for ratification.

We are at the point that civil attempts to resist an internal coup are stupid and irrelevant.

We are at the point that we must acknowledge that the current government is a tyranny and has no legitimate authority over us. We are at the point we must refuse, resist and defy this government’s demands upon us.

We are at the point that the oligarchy in power will then use force to impose it’s illegitimate will upon those they seek to subjugate.

And then we have the moral duty to rest them by every and all means at our disposal.

You really don’t think the sky is falling?

I think we are dancing on the slopes of Pompeii with ashes falling and the ground getting hot.

“It’s what has been called the Normalcy Bias, as long as things continue to work relative smoothly, The Electricity keeps flowing, the Stores are stocked and you can put gas in your car (even if those prices get higher and higher) Ubama can get away with ANTYING!

HOWEVER, the moment any of those things are taken away, (for more than 72 hours, that is the magic number) Then you will see things unravel.”

Yep. And I am hoping and praying that it happens in my lifetime. Hurry UP, already - dammit! ;)

For the Left to make any of their amendments part of the US Constitution, they will need 38 states; not going to happen.

They will succeed to ‘hijack’ some blue states like New York or California, but Wyoming and Utah will cancel them out.

I expect them to raise a ruckus how unfair it is that California with 34 million people should be neutered by Wyoming with only a half million people.

And I’ll be smiling while watching liberal heads explode.

That Governmental Employees, aka Civil Servants, shall not exceed 1/10 or one percent of the total population of Natural Born Citizens of the United States and be drawn exclusively from that group of the Population of the Citizenry of the United States.

The problem with such a limitation is how employee might be spun to disadvantage the people.
For example, military personnel; they'll scramble and scramble to save the elite and the burearchy, everything else will be surrendered/cut first.

Not to worry, Travis, that old volcano is always sending up a little smoke. The ash? Relax. Great for the vineyards.

I was referring to your fears about Article V. As for everything else, yes - that's why I favor using Article V!

The first one:

Section 1 doesn’t make sense, and I’d rather just repeal the 16th Amendment. Limiting the percentage is good, but repealing it is better.
