Students at Waccamaw Middle School in Pawleys Island, S.C. did something pretty cool this spring when they baked cupcakes and cookies to sell during lunchtime to raise money so six World War II veterans could go on an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.
The fundraising effort was a smashing success. The students raised $2,500 in just three weeks to help the six vets visit the various national memorials that venerate their sacrifices, according to the Georgetown Times.
If the kids want to act similarly selflessly this academic year, though, theyll be out of luck.
They can thank first lady Michelle Obama for getting them out of such do-gooderism.
The 2010 Hunger-Free Kids Act that the first lady has strongly advocated now prevents such bake sales at all schools taking the associated federal funding.

Bring back “Dan’s Bake Sale.”
I knew that one was coming. LOL!
People really need to just start ignoring these fascists and do what they want....dare them to come after you so they can be exposed for the good little fascists they are.
"We disagree on most everything, but I know you're not a racist."
"You're my favorite 'Kreepy Azz Kracka." You can imagine the response when he dropped that term on me in the elevator. The looks from the others not in on the joke were priceless.
FROM THE ARTICLE:
“The 2010 Hunger-Free Kids Act that the first lady has strongly advocated now prevents such bake sales at all schools taking the associated federal funding.”
Some busy body school administrator might call the cops if parents or PTA do an unauthorized bake sale. Remember that even in small town conservative areas, that liberal educrats are running our school systems now.
People want all the federal taxpayer-funded goodies but don’t want all the strings attached. Good luck with that.
“....but I know you’re not a racist.” ..”
We’ve come to the point in time where one demographic, defending their own people, heritage, culture, traditions, from being erased is called “racist”, while those of another demographic attempting the erasure (so they can replace it with their OWN people, heritage, culture, traditions) is somehow, magically, NOT “racist”.
Words only have the power you let them have.
Smile, nod, and say “Why, as a matter of fact, I am exactly the same as YOU are!”
And watch them try to figure it out.
Moochelle is a pig in a human suit.
Banana just spiked.
Banana futures just spiked.
This woman has absolutely NO legislative authority...
Have all the bake sales you want.......
I’d still have the bake sale ON SCHOOL property. The mooch does not make laws and the Fed has no right to run the schools. I’d go as far as to abolish the Dept of (non) Education. Downgrade it to a committee that the DOE of each state will report to (if they choose). Take all the funding for DOE and divide it among the states based on population and fund it no more.
So,this worthless dame, whose a$$ deserves its own zip code, has nothing better to do?
To use an old Homer and Jethro song parody.......
when I said that
your bustle
was cute as could be
You said Homer
that’s no bustle
THAT’S ME!
Oh turn me loose
please reduce
your caboose
blubber
pound for pound you’re just too round for me!
All the money has Michelle Obama’s face on it and is backed by her private treasury?
Ask someone across from the school grounds if you can use their yard (host) for the Bake
sale then have it during one of the PC school events. Lots of signs and kids
holding posters around the corners.
Send a precise message to the Un-American socialist school leaders that their
BS will not stand.
People need to understand what it really means and how they change the definition
once everybody starts catching on. It's un-American and that's what people need to understand.
Thanks for the reply. Before January 20, 2009, I would have never made such a remark. Since that time, all that I hold dear, The Constitution, The US Treasury, included, seems to have been rendered null, and void.
