Kiss Singer Gene Simmons Tells Depressed People To Kill Themselves
Opposing Views ^ | 8-1-2014 | Michael Allen

Posted on 08/01/2014 10:52:37 AM PDT by Citizen Zed

Last month, Kiss singer Gene Simmons falsely claimed that the wealthiest one percent paid 80 percent of "all taxes" and created "all the jobs."

Eager to spread more love, Simmons recently teed off on his former Kiss band mates Peter Criss and Ace Frehley, and anyone suffering from depression or drug addiction.

When asked by SongFacts.com if he still gets along with Criss or Frehley these days, Simmons responded, "No, I don't get along with anybody who's a drug addict and has a dark cloud over their head and sees themselves as a victim."

"Drug addicts and alcoholics are always: 'The world is a harsh place.' My mother was in a concentration camp in Nazi Germany," added Simmons. "I don't want to hear f--- all about 'the world as a harsh place.' She gets up every day, smells the roses and loves life. And for a putz, 20-year-old kid to say, 'I'm depressed, I live in Seattle.' F--- you, then kill yourself."

read the whole article...its incredible and Simmons is spot on:

<>” Simmons went on to slam Run-D.M.C. for being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

“”So I will give the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame credibility even though it’s got Run-D.M.C. and Madonna and some other people on it, as soon as the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame allows Led Zeppelin inside,” stated Simmons. “You’d say, that’s ridiculous. Oh really? But Run-D.M.C. is in the Rock Hall? What brand of guitar do you play? What song have you ever sung?”

> Yup he’s just telling it like it is.

If you’ve watched his show or listened to him for any length of time, what he’s really say, “stop whining, grow up and be a man and stop sitting on your a$$ and crying. I’m tired of hearing the SOS day after day. If you’re going to do it just go ahead and do it because I’m tired of hearing about it”.

I’d guess that pretty close to what he means anyway and I’ve watched him for years.

At some point people are responsible for themselves, and at some point the people who say that they aren’t are enablers.

Kiss Singer Gene Simmons Tells Depressed People To Kill Themselves

Cheer up, or Die Sucka!

- sounds like a good name for a KISS song.

Depression is a disease of the mind. Telling someone suffering depression to go kill themselves is about as constructive as telling someone suffering heart disease or cancer to go kill themselves. It might make the idiots who say it feel a little better about their miserable selves, but it contributes nothing but a little mindless cruelty to a world already overflowing with it. Simmons needs to STFU and stick to groveling for forgiveness from the mother of his kids on TV.

The guy is an aggressive businessman and his phrasing was to tell these drug addicts to stop crying as victims. Nothing wrong with what be said.

Ever try to “help”a drug addict who doesn’t want to help themselves? They will rob you blind or worse.

However he meant it, clinically depressed people should not have to hear him say “ kill yourself”! I thought he was smarter than that.

I agree with Simmons. And yeah, unfortunately I have tried to help an addict or two when I was younger and a stupid liberal. You’re right. They’ll cry themselves right into your home then steal you blind to get high. I don’t help them anymore. And people on here wonder why I’m so anti-drug on here. Its from direct personl experience dealing with them many times.

Don't kill yourselves. Get some sunshine, a lot of sunshine. It is the best, maybe the only effective anti-depressive medicine there is without the murderous side effects of prescription anti-depressants. If you work at night or live up north where the sun is at a less effective angle, take vitamin D-3 supplements. I have watched the sunshine treatment work impressively and apparently totally on two women. One, In Viet Nam, was a manic-depressive (is that "bi-polar" these days?) anorexic bulimic. I got her taking a lot of D-3, not for the M-D because I didn't know about that effect, but because she got a lot of flu and colds. VN women fear the sun and stay covered up so that the sun doesn't touch their skin. She took the supps for a year. After a year she had had no virii for the time and, additionally, her M-D went totally away.
A doctor at the French hospital got her on a program that eased her out of the bulimia and the anorexia had gone with the M-D.

Seeing how that apparently worked I got my M-D daughter on the D-3. She is a night owl and seldom sees the sun. She quit taking the xanax et al and has been evened out for two years.

Uh oh. Sounds like Gene has finally gotten to that age where people just say what they think and let the chips fall where they may. Can’t have that, can we?

Simmons continued on his pro-suicide theme: “I never understand, because I always call them on their bluff. I’m the guy who says ‘Jump!’ when there’s a guy on top of a building who says, ‘That’s it, I can’t take it anymore, I’m going to jump.’ Are you kidding? Why are you announcing it? Shut the f-— up, have some dignity and jump! You’ve got the crowd.”

Well, this is going to go over like a lead balloon, but I am about over the “clinically depressed.” I mean, nothing seems to help these people. They try this medication and that medication, and there is apparently just no cure. So they go on being depressed, and usually making sure their friends and family and co-workers are depressed along with them. I mean... come on.

He is the bass player and brains behind KISS, not the singer.

Yeah. I have a friend who has been off and on meds for years, and I really like her, so I don't want her to kill herself. BUT... I have noticed her depression fades when she's getting exactly what she wants. Very expensive food, clothes, vacations, drinks, etc seems to ease her depression. Having to work or clean house seems to exacerbate her depression.

This makes me suspicious. Know what I mean?
