Kelsey Grammer forgave the man who raped and murdered his sister but said that he should not be released, during an emotional testimony at the killer's parole hearing on Tuesday.
The 59-year-old Frasier star testified against 57-year-old Freddie Glenn who kidnapped and murdered his 18-year-old sister, Karen Elisa Grammer, in 1975 when she was leaving her job at a Red Lobster in Colorado Springs.
'I accept that you live with remorse, but I live with tragedy every day,' the Cheers star said via satellite link at a Colorado parole hearing.
'I accept your apology. I forgive you. However, I cannot give your release my endorsement.'

Kelsey Grammer was in NY theater during the years of his sister’s murder, I guess. I remember seeing his brilliant performance in Quartermaine’s Terms around this time.

I’m guessing that if some guy raped and murdered your sister, you wouldn’t be so glib with the “forgiveness”.
I agree with you on all points but one: even G-d cannot forgive transgressions against another human being, only the victim can. That is why murder is so unforgivable - because that is literally true. He can and does forgive for transgressions against His law. Keep in mind that I am Jewish, and thus bring my faith’s P.O.V. to this question. On Yom Kippur, our Day of Atonement, we are required to ask forgiveness of those we have wronged in the past year, and show some to those who have wronged us...because if we are asking G-d to forgive us for sins against Him, we have to take the first step.
As for K.G., kudos to him for letting go of the hatred that would be natural in these circumstances for anyone. I’m not sure that I could do that. Note that I believe that he can forgive this animal for the emotional harm that he, himself, suffered.
DINGDINGDING!!! I read the article on the front page, and looking at Grammer's words, I knew immediately the race of the killer.
I don't blame him, though. It's actually a no brainer. He will look "good" to the PC idiots--it might earn him a few points with the Nazis in Hollywood--and the killer still has to sit in prison because Grammar was still honest enough to do the right thing. I can't say the same thing about the other hollywood idiots--they would have asked him to be released. This guy was a piece of shiznit. A fiancee? A trust fund? Only in Amerikkka...
He had also killed two other people, one a restaurant cook whom he robbed of 50 cents, and the other a teenager in a drug deal.
