Freddie Prinze Jr. on His '24' Days: 'Kiefer was the Most Unprofessional Dude in the World'
The Hollywood Reporter ^ | 7/28/2014 | Hilary Lewis

Posted on 07/28/2014 3:06:17 PM PDT by EdnaMode

Freddie Prinze Jr. had such an awful experience acting opposite Kiefer Sutherland in 24 that he "wanted to quit the business," he said.

The actor explained to ABC News that working with Sutherland was "terrible."

"I did 24, and it was terrible. I hated every moment of it," Prinze said. "Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That's not me talking trash. I'd say it to his face. I think everyone that's worked with him has said that."

My complaint is that Jack Bauer mumbles words, hard to understand what he is saying.
There should be more consideration for the viewers, we pay for it, we should know what the actrers are saying.
“hsmnlm wayu smuthays” Huh?

Yes and his Father Donald is even worse. Donald Sutherland and Jane Fonda did the movie “Klute” back in about 1971 and it turned out they were both as Left as you could get back then.
It never ceases to amaze me that they hate the Capitalist System but certainly do not mind making the kind of money it pays to help finance their Socialist/Communist beliefs.

They should give all their money away, live on about $25,000 a year and dress in sack cloth and ashes with sandals. Then I might have a little more respect for their beliefs.

He calculated that it cost him about $17 Million back then. About $60 plus Million today.

Freddie Prinze Jr has been struggling to find decent acting roles during the past 4 years. This seems like a publicity stunt.

Refers to Sutherland’s alcoholism.

Political Junkie Too: " He was the director of field ops who was dating the character played by Katee Sackhoff. She was a spy for the Russians, and was also being threatened by an ex-boyfriend who got out of jail and came after her because she changed her name after getting off lightly on the murder rap that her boyfriend did serious time for."

Aha! Thank you PJ. Now I remember him and as I recall he seemed stiff in that role, too.

We do have a lot of preachers that pretend to believe the Bible, and fool their congregation into thinking he is what he is not - so, I suppose it is possible for actors/actresses to do the same.

How many of us would believe that the funny, in fact, zany redhead of the 1960’s with her neighbors the Mertzes was in fact a card-carrying communist.

I suppose being married to a Cuban should have been a big clue.

I worked as a technician and the veterinarian for a movie, North & South, Parts I & II. I got to sit at the caterer table with the actors and director and found the lot of them congenial and friendly. "Buddy" Swayze would go to the local bars with us, Kirstie Alley carried my bags from horse to horse as I was treating sick horses on the set, Phillip Cassinauv spent a day with me learning the horse tack, uniforms, and weapons of the Mexican War. Leslie Anne Downs spent time with several of us learning about our horses and what we did in real life. David Wolper and Kevin Connor couldn't have been nicer. I met Andrew McLaugin, Andrew Prine and Don "Red" Barry on the set of Bandalero and they had dinner at my house several times and were just like normal folks. I guess my experiences were different because they were no where near Hollywood.

Daddy also insisted on being paid scale for his few days work on Animal House. That little decision cost him many millons of dollars over the years.

Interesting. I had not heard that little tidbit before. Thanks.

The amount of factual reporting on theism thread is overwhelming. I HEARD that. I READ that. My cousin knew a guy. I think his dad was……. Socialists make difficult actors.

I feel like I really know the guy now.

Prinze said that the experience almost made him quit acting. That tells me that PRINZE was the problem. Anyone who is that fragile shouldn’t be in this business. I worked with Kiefer at the height of his cocaine and drinking problem but he always showed on time, knew his lines, and stayed in character the whole time. Today, he is friends with one of my own buddies and I’m told he’s very down to earth and friendly with his fans when he’s out. I’m wondering what happened to Prinze that was so bad. After 23 years, I’ve only personally seen a handful of celeb level actors who were jerk-ish.

Prinze is such a terrible actor. Issues with Sutherland’s politics aside, he’s good at what he does.

For proof, just watch Prinze in that cinematic abomination “Wing Commander,” particularly an unintentionally hilarious scene towards the end where there’s a close-up of him kind of trying to fake cry. Man, that’s good stuff.

LOL! It's good to know that someone else shares my opinion. Good acting is seamless and we viewers often won't even notice. Bad acting juts out and is only relieved when the scene changes. If Prinze, Jr is the nicest and most conservative of all conservatives in the entire world, none of it deflects away from Prinze, Jr's apparent lack of impulse control.
