FDNY ‘babying’ cadet who can’t pass fitness tests: classmate

She walked through her running tests and got winded climbing stairs, yet a physically unfit female FDNY probie was still allowed out in the field like a normal graduate — and given a year to pass, The Post has learned. “She’s literally the most pathetic specimen of physical fitness I’ve ever seen,” fumed an academy classmate of Choeurlyne Doirin, 39, who was given a uniform and a “light-duty” assignment even though she did not graduate on June 2 with the other 286 cadets. Prospective firefighters are required to complete a grueling 18 weeks of academy training that includes being able to run 1¹/₂ miles in 12 minutes without gear. But the over-the-hill Doirin failed to meet the required time, taking more than 18 minutes to huff-and-puff her way across the finish line.

Agreed, let’s not discriminate. Agreed, let girls into the police academy and fire training. But, the girls have to meet the same standards. If they can’t cut it, that is not discriminatory. Based on the job requirements, such as being able to carry a 200 pound person, and carry heavy gear, being in good enough shape to run a mile, etc. some girls will be able to meet the standards. Those that meet the standards should be hired. If not, then they had their shot but couldn’t cut it. It’s not discrmination if they just can’t cut it.
Remember too, lots of men don’t make it through the basic training programs either. Are we going to say they were discrminated against due to being men???

This person is a danger to herself, the other firefighters, and the public. More than likely, there's a job requirement that you must be 100% fit for duty, and she isn't. The article claims she was injured on-the-job, which in this case, she was injured while at the academy. She's been on light duty, but according to rules and regulations, she must be fit to return to full duty within a certain time frame. And if she is returned to full duty, she should be made to return to the academy, and complete the required qualifications. It sounds like she's planning on a career in disability.
Qualifications of any sort are discriminatory. Liberals are horrified by ANY discrimination at all, not because of the possible damage to people’s “rights” but because humans are to be totally interchangeable undifferentiated cogs in the societal machine. A cog malfunctions. Destroy it and replace it with the next cog from the box.

That’s a whole industry in New York city. A few years ago they uncovered 100% of retired Long Island railroad workers were on disability. Punching tickets is a hazardous job you know, all that wrist action.
I guess what the NYFD is saying is that black women aren’t capable of meeting the requirements on their own ability. Pathetic!
It gets better. Once hired, her supervisors will write evaluation reports with phrases like: “well respected by her peers,” “an outstanding individual with leadership potential,” “a role model for our young people.” And in time, she will be promoted over people who are more qualified physically and academically. She will think she did it on her own.

Sometimes a sense of entitlement starts with the name. Give a child an almost unpronounceable almost unspellable name, and wear it like a chip on the shoulder, daring someone to say this made up name “wrong”. Those who say it ‘wrong’ are subjected to public dressing down lectures from the Mom, and later from the suddenly empowered ‘victim’ of the offense. My guess is she’s been this way all her life, selfish, vain, and myopic, expecting the world to conform to her needs vs the other way around.
Why did I bother? I wasted time going to the site even though I knew before hand this was going to be about skin color and not really about qualifications....
No problem. I'm sure the fire will give her extra time to rescue any babies from a burning building. If it doesn't, it just goes to show the fire dept is a construct of white privilege.
I have a friend who calls herself a conservative feminist. She tells her daughters they can be anything they want to be.
Your post just serves to prove that, no-—in reality, they really can’t.
I would sure like to find that famous video of the females trying out for the LAFD, it was hilarious.
Soon this will be the new US Army standards too.
