Ted Cruz Sorry/Not Sorry About Losing the Vampire Vote
Pajamas Media ^ | 07/23/2014 | PAULA BOLYARD

Posted on 07/23/2014 8:50:14 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) responded on Facebook to a True Blood TV episode that featured a storyline with a massacre at a fundraiser for Ted Cruz at the George W. Bush Presidential Library. In the episode, a pair of left-leaning vampires show up at the Republican fundraiser to search for the parents of their enemy. Pam, the female vampire, catches a glimpse of herself in a mirror with a sparkly dress and big hair and exclaims, “I’m a Republican!” Except instead of “Republican” she invents a sexually crude word that’s not worth repeating here because it’s juvenile and debauched. After Pam recovers from her shock at looking like a Republican, a bloody massacre ensues at the gala.

On his personal Facebook page, Cruz said he never expected to turn up on the “misogynist and profanity-ridden” show. “I’m sorry to have lost the vampire vote,” Cruz wrote, “but am astonished (and amused) that HBO is suggesting that hard-core leftists are blood-sucking fiends.”

But in retrospect, Cruz acknowledged that he probably never had a chance with the hard-core leftist blood suckers:

Then again, I guess I never had a chance w/ the vampire vote since the dead tend to vote overwhelmingly for Dems: https://t.co/U6uCqsRpuS

— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) July 22, 2014

Cruz’s senior communications advisor (and frequent tag-team Twitter partner) Amanda Carpenter agreed:

True Blood plot showing vampires crashing Cruz fundraiser clearly false. Everyone knows dead people vote Democrat.

I hate the way they’ve depicted vampires these days.

Dracula used to be afraid of the cross... not today’s vampires.

Then, in the film... ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER, The vampires were actually living and hunting in DAYLIGHT !!

I've been somewhat ambivalent about TB this last season. The first few episodes disturbed me, especially about Sookie’s dumbass brother having that gaywad homo dream about Eric. Frankly, I expected it to descend to ignominy in its final ending. This Cruz thing just confirms it.

Nothing beats a well-produced show like this devolving into personal and political underpinnings like a bunch of drug-addled writers who must have escaped from the banishment after they finished the last bits of “Lost”. Just damn.

At this point, I'm hoping that Sookie Stackhouse (I love that name, regrettably) gets her frigging little neck ripped out by an H-Vamp. End. Fin. Fini. Viederbyebye Sookie.

I guess storytelling around the traditional construction of the vampire legend is too difficult.

You know why they despise the Right?...because we are right...
its even why some Libertarian are turning in to progressives.

While man law can be Libertarian ...

Natural law, truth, logic, reason can be quite tyrannical...

In other words..truth sometimes is a total bitch that doesn’t care what you want..

HBO is a cesspool of liberal claptrap. I have the HBO app on my RoKu. Browse their documentary section and I am not kidding you, dozens of documentaries about gays having children, gays being persecuted, gays in America, gays in film, gays in the military, blacks being persecuted, Mexicans being persecuted, Democrats being persecuted, factory farms, Halliburton, Bush, Cruz, Cheney, then throw in crap about transsexuals, hipsters whining about lack of jobs,....its a cliche, really is. True Blood, you’re kidding right, its camp. Now another garbage show is The Leftovers, its a nihilistic self fellating atheists treatise on how us Christians are stupid.

I don’t disagree with you, except for TB which isn’t ‘camp’ any more.. I also agree about Leftovers - trash TV, as well as boring as hell. I erased it off my preprogrammed list.

When my reduced-palate of showfair from DirectV expires next month, I’ll once again tell them to drop all the premium channels. They’ll likely offer me a huge discount (free actually) on them and I’ll go on for another 6 months, but not watch HBO much at all - just new movies.

Most “traditional vampire lore” was invented out of whole cloth by Bram Stoker.

Nothing wrong with coming up with new or different mythology or backstory.

That Leftovers show is truly horrid. The creative team from Lost.....that’s bragging rights? I hated Lost, an overrated, tired, boring show if there ever was one. Figures it was a success in Obama nation, where the average mouth breather doesn’t know the Vice President but knows what happened with Chloe Kardashian. No wonder the morons propelled that offal to the top. I liked True Detective on HBO, quality show, movie quality really. I find my Kindle my entertainment and the occasional sport on TV like college football.

I like car shows and police dramas/mysteries mostly but I also like shows about real estate sales once in a while. True Blood didn’t have any of those things in it.
Very boring.
