How Obama Is Turning Liberalism Into an Instrument of Coercion

Liberals just aren't very liberal these days. The word “liberal” comes from the Latin word meaning freedom, and in the 19th century liberals in this country and abroad stood for free speech, free exercise of religion, free markets, free trade -- for minimal state interference in people's lives.

In the 20th century New Dealers revised this definition, by arguing that people had a right not only to free speech and freedom of religion, but also, as Franklin Roosevelt said in his 1941 Four Freedoms speech, freedom from fear and from want.

Freedom from want meant, for Roosevelt, government provision of jobs, housing, health care and food. And so government would have to be much larger, more expensive and more intrusive than ever before.

Modern liberalism, as opposed to classical ;iberalism, is authoritarian in nature. Modern-day Conservatioves have a lot more in common with classical liberals and Democrats have a lot more in common with classical republicans. The founding fathers were classical liberals and that's why conservatives venerate tyhem so much--and why Democrats LOATHE them so much. Because they are all authoritarian, I've decided that I won't vote for a Democrat until I'm dead./rwa

There used to be actual liberals in the Democrat party, along with some old left radicals. Then in the 1970s the 60’s new left radicals took over the party along with all the other liberal institutions. Now “liberal” simply means leftist in common usage.

Modern liberal is more akin to marxist authoritarianism than it is to old-style liberalism. That is because it springs from the perverted liberalism of the 1930’s when the Communists greatly influenced US domestic policies in the FDR era. Their infiltration of a great number of Government economic recovery programs and administrations, from the NRA to the WPB, NLRB, etc., had a tremendous affect on the course and policies of those recovery agencies.

Also, Communist infiltration of the “intellectuals” in the US, from Hollywood to the print media, the Black Harlem Renaissance Group, and most of the major unions, led to a major change in the concept of “liberalism” (which Barone is apparently referring to).

Barone is a real gentleman and a scholar but he needs to come out, as did RightWingAgnostic, and say that today’s liberalism is nothing but marxism described by an old word/concept.

If the US Congress can have 80 members (all Democrats,plus Bernie Sanders who is a marxist, not a socialist), out of about 180-200 Dems, in a Congressional Progressives Caucus, then the marxists are the MAJORITY faction in the Democrat Party.

Add in the fact that a significant part of the Black Congressional Caucus consists of assorted Communists (Conyers, Danny Davis, Barbara Lee); marxists/socialists - Rangel, Shaka (Phila), Sheila Lee-Jackson (also a member of the DumbAss Caucus), etc. and related “welfare/affirmative action leftists”, and with a parallel Dumb-Ass Caucus, led by Elijah Cummings, Mrs Birdhat from Florida, Bernice something, Clyde? Johnson, etc., you have a Fifth Column of Marxists and The Stupids who are also a large group that included most members of the Congressional Progressives Caucus, i.e. marxists/socialists.

Obama is a Marxist, PERIOD. His main influences re his ideology were from the Communist Party USA with major influences from the competing marxist Democratic Socialists of America organization, which was also influenced by old marxist Saul Alinsky.

Otherwise how do you explain why Obama had so many marxists as “czars” and advisors, from Van Jones (STORM), Anita Dunn (Mao), Lisa Jackson (EPA - protege’ of her socialist/earlier precedessor Carol Browner, and David Axelrod, who was mentored by not only a CPUSA member (and son of CPUSA founder/Soviet asset), but also a Soviet propaganda asset himself. There are others in the Obama regime who are marxists, socialists, etc.

Old style liberal is dead and on its’ tombstone is the image of the letter “L” lying on the ground with a Hammer & Sickle impaled in it (RIP - means Reds in Power).

We need a political purge so powerful and widespread that the unemployment offices across the country will be filled for months as we clean out the Congress, White House, government agencies, academia/teachers unions, and the media.

In the alternative, we still have GITMO, ALASKA and the MOHAVE DESERT.
