Archie Andrews will die taking a bullet for his gay best friend.
The famous freckle-faced comic book icon is meeting his demise in Wednesday’s installment of “Life with Archie” when he intervenes in an assassination attempt on Kevin Keller, Archie Comics’ first openly gay character. It’s a desperation ploy. The Archie loyalists will buy the comic to complete their set. The collectors will buy the comic to complete the set.
But the gay community and it’s supporters will buy the comic in droves to make a point, with the hope being that a good sized chunk of them will hang around and buy future editions ...
Sounds like they killed their circulation by adding the homo character and rather than correct that mistake, they are doubling down.

If that is what Archie has become about, then killing Archie off is a mercy. The pity is that this sludge was ever printed in the first place!
It would be more life-like if his gay friend shot him.

Well, then it’ll be more symbolic of the death of that failed side project than of the birth of Goldwater’s “new Riverdale” (which must resemble the Castro).
As I said, the entertainment media start with an agenda, then use the story line to get you to suspend your disbelief and your critical thinking, and then slip in a plug for their agenda.
That would be ... awesome.
Had a friend in college who played that scenario to the same end. At least twice. He was exceptionally good at “being” an ostensibly gay guy thinking that he might be straight because he found himself attracted to the women he was trying to bed ...
Right, but who the heck buys Archie comics? It must happen but I have never seen it with my own eyes. I mean say there was no lib garbage or gay stuff in it nowadays, who would be claiming Archie as their favorite comic book?! ‘Oh, man, I can’t wait for the next Archie book to come out’ is as alien to me as ‘Oh man, I can’t wait for the new jewelry shopping show to start’ or ‘Oh man, the next WNBA game is going to be great.’
