Scott Bollig, 30, will stand trial on first-degree murder and aggravated battery, a judge decided on Friday. In February, police claim Bollig confessed to crushing an abortion pill and mixing it into pancakes, then feeding them to a woman who was 8-weeks-pregnant.

Interesting our society that allows, if not celebrates, abortion still recognizes this as a crime at all. Aren't men "free to choose" as well?

I can't imagine a Christian pregnant woman ever being able to eat in a restaurant and feel safe. In fact, hardly able to feel safe unless she prepared the food herself. What a horrible way to live.

This has to become a death penalty offense. And the manufacture of the dam pills should be outlawed!

This can’t be.

For 2 weeks now, the left has been telling us there is no such thing as an “abortion pill”. Only contraceptives.

You bring up a good point and it's surprising there is no push for the rights of the father to have a say in whether or not his own flesh and blood should live. You would think the law would require both parents to expressly concent to end the life of their child, and if there is disagreement - the child lives.

What a travesty this is even an issue.

sorry but no....once the guy willing gives his sperm its out of his hands......its done....he has no say....

we make choices in this world and if we had a few more morals the question of how, when, if, and where to kill an unborn baby would never come up, because we would be responsible adults with character...

On what basis do you say this? Other than you yourself are female?

How can you murder what “isn’t alive”?

How can this be murder when the dead fetus at Ft. Hood was “not”?

Liberals are screwy. Oh wait, they lie like Stalinists.

They know it is death. They just lie to those who bring it up.

Scott Robert Bollig, from Wakeeney, Kansas, allegedly crushed up the drug on January 26 before giving it to his girlfriend, 36-year-old Naomi Abbott, who was between eight and ten weeks pregnant.

The statute, Alexa’s Law, allows prosecutors to charge someone with murder, manslaughter or battery for intentionally harming a fetus.
Under the law, when a pregnant woman is attacked, prosecutors can charge the assailant with a crime against the woman and a separate crime against the baby, but the law excludes abortion.

It is not clear how long the couple had been dating but Abbott, who has two sons from a previous relationship, divorced just over a year earlier, according to records.

She is listed as a witness in the complaint, along with Kansas Bureau of Investigation agents, registered nurses and bank and post office workers.

Trego County Sheriff Richard Hanks confirmed that Abbott is an employee in his office so although the crime allegedly occurred there, it is being dealt with by a neighboring county, Hays.

if the woman did this there’d be no story.

woman exercises “choice” not to be a mom and the world celebrates.

guy exercises his choice not to be a dad and ATM and we can’t have that.

i think it’s sick in either case but it’s hypocritical to only give one person choice when it’s the same act.

“Men don’t have to give birth. So they have no say.”

I hear this in every abortion conversation.

Good point; this is horrible, but girlfriends do this every day (sometimes to children the guys want). I am married almost twenty years, so dating is in the distant past, but I couldn’t imagine setting myself up to be a father of an unwanted child.

If men would do some research as to the steps women will go through to get pregnant (especially in their 30s), they’d be much more careful.

I didn’t know this was a random act by a restaurant worker. I thought it was the woman’s boyfriend; the baby’s father.
