REVIEW: Halle Berry Stars in CBS’s Extant
Time ^ | July 9, 2014 | James Poniewozik

This summer drama mashes up a lot of sci-fi premises we've seen before, but in a way that shows potential.

The first episode of Extant (CBS, Wednesdays) establishes with several quick cues that you are looking at the future. When astronaut Molly Woods (Halle Berry) washes up in the bathroom, she pulls up a news feed on the mirror. The garbage can outside her house is a transparent prism that compacts trash elegantly. Also, the show seems to posit an alternative universe in which CBS airs high-profile new dramas and they’re not about cops or lawyers.

That particular aspect of the near-term future has been ushered in by Under the Dome, the loopy but successful Stephen King adaptation that, now in its second season, has turned a small town in Maine into a menacing butterfly garden under glass. Now CBS is premiering Extant, a Steven Spielberg-produced joint about the eerie aftereffects of a long-term space mission ...

I don’t watch anything on CBS, NBC or ABC unless it’s a football game and that’ll drop significantly now that at least one fag is openly playing.

Oh Geez....I did not realize that Under the Dome is a Stephen King work.

If that’s the case, I’m deleting it right now from my DVR scheduler. There is not one SK work that follows through with the mystique and promise of the beginning. Complete and utter wasted horse sh!t, IMO. I submit “The Langoliers” as evidence, if you want more - “The Tommyknocers.”

To me it is worse than that doped out, dragged out nonsensical LOST series where they doped up the writers the day before filming each week, and finally relented to a Bobby (Dallas) shower scene at the end. Just damn.

I’ve already trashed that SyFy crap “Helix”, and am about to pull the plug on that stupid show “The Leftovers” (really really pitiful). The only other recent TV series work I watched like these through to the end was “Stargate Universe” and that did not get anywhere near good until the last two or three episodes - too late the hero.

I read “under the dome” and the tv show is NOT following any of the original story. The book, by the way, was pretty good but I can’t see how the tv show could possibly be using the same ending

Her acting ability is simply NOT all that. She has had one good role, which she did very well in Introducing Dorothy Dandridge. But the fact that she got an Oscar for Monster's Ball was simply SAD! I watched the movie and didn't see anything that was Oscar-worthy! The dialogue was banal, at best, and the over-acting must have made William Shatner blush!

The best thing she had going for her was her pretty face and that body, but after Swordfish, I am no longer really amazed by it either. Maybe if she wears some semi-revealing, skin-tight outfits, she can redeem her on-screen value.

Otherwise, this has to be a complete waste of time.

Halle Berry is a schmuck like Obama. Raised by white mother, spends all her time at award ceremonies praising her black heritage despite father being absent from raising her.

Also note that Extant is the show that Obama’s alleged daughter interned on for a day at CBS a couple months ago.

I think Halle Berry is physically attractive, but is as rotten inside as a dead, broken, tree.

So much so I can’t even appreciate her physical attractiveness.

When I found out a month or so ago that Malaria worked on it, I decided to never watch it.

She got an oscar for that because she didn’t wear make-up.

She famously told her white boyfriend and father of her child, “Thanks for the donation”. Never had a black bf that I know of.

I really know nothing about her personally. Could you give me some specifics? Thanks. :)

She is a major league brain-dead liberal, ignorant as the day is long, but that doesn’t stop her from using her celebrity status to push the liberal agenda.

I just can’t get past that myself. Think of a female Samuel Jackson (shudder)...

The last Steven Spielberg tv show “Terra Nova” bombed and was pulled during season 1. The new show has Halle getting knocked up by an alien.... yeah that should be a comedy. I think Mork & Mindy already used that idea.

He has had a few successes in tv
1995-1998 Pinky and the Brain (TV Series) (executive producer - 70 episodes) ... 1990-1992 Tiny Toon Adventures (TV Series) (executive producer - 98 episodes) ...
