The woman was taken for evaluation once she was in custody. Why in custody? For taking a beating?
For bruising the cops knuckles withb her face.................
You have to be crazy to want a beating!
If a relative of mine had died in a pileup because no one felt like pacifying her forcefully, then I would have done a lot worse than punch her a dozen times in the face.
“The woman was taken for evaluation once she was in custody. Why in custody? For taking a beating?”
From what I understand this woman has mental problems. She was on the onramp to the freeway, walking on the freeway and probably why the calls to the police. Not a good idea to be walking down a freeway. Now as to the beating it looks like overkill to me.
She was taken for a 72 hour hold (section 5150 of the california health and safety code). According to the radio report at the time, she had been running in and out of traffic on the La Brea onramp of the 10 freeway. Which is basically suicide at rush hour. So that’s what the evaluation was for. They’ll adjust her meds and release her. She’ll stop taking her anti-psychotics, and maybe self-medicate, and some other cop will get the call, again, and have to figure out how to take her back to the psych ward, again. And the FReeper peanut gallery can have fun calling that next cop a ‘nazi’ or something similar, again.
