Cop Filmed Viciously Beating Unarmed Woman on Highway (2 VIDEO's)

A cellphone video emerged this weekend of a California cop appearing to brutally beat a woman for no discernible reason on the side of a highway.

CBS Los Angeles reports that the video, filmed on Tuesday evening, depicts a California Highway Patrol officer angrily crossing the La Brea Freeway, yanking a barefooted woman down, and punching her “more than 11 times in the face.”

As of now, the CHP says that it is investigating the incident, but said in a statement that “since there is an ongoing investigation, it would be premature to comment on this specific video segment without reviewing the entire incident.” They also took the woman, who lacked identification, to a hospital for a physical and mental evaluation once she was in custody.

Here’s an interview with the man who filmed the attack, courtesy of CNN:

You think those punches are pulled, “totally”? Even if they appeared to be, why would the cop pull his punches? What purpose would that serve?

Well let’s see, I could say it’s blazingly clear that he was hitting her multiple times, full force, in the head, potentially lethally, with malice and rage, without any self-defense excuse, that the country is outraged and that you’re one of the most obvious and sickening paid shills to ever hit the net.

Yes, I could say that. But I don’t know in this case it’s hard to say, other times maybe, but this video is not so clear...

It’s the blur, I think. The blur of his black-gloved fist smashing into her head over and over and over and over and over and over... If only he hit her more slowly, I could be sure, but in this case, all I can see it’s the rapid pistoning of his arm into her face and it’s so... confusing... what can it mean... there must be some way to understand this...

Well the woman was reported not to be injured, following the incident.

At least that is what I heard.

I agree this doesn’t look great. But in my opinion under the circumstances, I don’t really know what his options were.

“The woman was taken for evaluation once she was in custody. Why in custody? For taking a beating?”

From what I understand this woman has mental problems. She was on the onramp to the freeway, walking on the freeway and probably why the calls to the police. Not a good idea to be walking down a freeway. Now as to the beating it looks like overkill to me.

Hey I’m with you Bubba. Sometimes ya just gotta knock some sense into a woman. They just gotta learn to obey. It was for her own good. Sometimes a good whoopin is what a woman needs to make her learn how to act. She will thank that cop later when she gets out of the hospital and has her thinking set straight.

From this video, we only see what happens after she is on the ground and she was clearly combative in the video. I am sorry but a small popscicle does not make an ice cream. Yeah its like that. You guys are saying like she was laying there like a rag doll and the officer was punching here with all his might into the head. This was not the case. Look at the woman’s arms and what they are doing rather than at the officer. Some could say she was being defensive and they could be right and others could say she was being combative and they could be right. The way most of the posters are acting, they would not look behind the curtain to see the wizard. Look behind the curtain because there is more to this than just this video. Near the end of what is shown from the (gag me as I say this) CNN link, the officer is attempting to get up off the woman but the guy who says he took the video says there was more. He also says in traffic with engines running and his windows rolled up he could hear her head hitting the ground. Something is not right about this guys story here. The window is clearly up due to the reflection that can be seen. Don’t know about you but in rush hour traffic it is sometimes difficult to hear things outside my car designed to baffle most external noises.

While I am not making judgement here as to what is seen in this video but the race card will be played here like the rodney king case especially since the woman is the polar opposite skin tone of the officer. The station that played the link is definately trying to fuel that fire. You mark my words on this as this is SOP for them.

I will wait until the curtain is pulled back to reveal the little man behind the curtain before making a judgement here. People who purport to be freepers and coming to an emotional judgement based on cliff notes there has to be irony here.

Next thing you know people will start saying the sky is falling and the red queen will want to lop off everyone heads.

Thought this was FreeRepublic not DU!

I don’t know if the cop got carried away.

All I know is freeways in LA are not for pedestrians.

They are crowded, they are (quite) fast, and there is never. Ever. Even one person out there strolling around.

Not even with shoes on. People just do not walk on LA freeways. Ever.

All I am saying is, this officer was dealing with a very unusual, potentially very dangerous situation.

Mid-day, with traffic zooming by. A woman who was barefoot, was out running in traffic.

That is darned unusual.

Just saying. I’m not ready at this point to say he wasn’t justified in what he did.

He may not have been. All I am saying is, it’s a very serious situation.

He was clearly dealing with someone who needed to be stopped.

He stopped her. From what I (understood), without injuring her. Nor was anyone else injured.

So I’m not sure.

That is all I am saying. I’m not sure.

here is what probably happened, the woman either did or said something that triggered the man’s ego. now she has to pay. Most cops are good but some have a terrible EGO problem. “I have authority and damn if you are going to challenge it”. I had a cop stop me once and gave me a ticket for five miles over the speed limit. He said, you know why I’m giving you this ticket? I said no, five miles an hour can be du to new tires or any other problem. He said I know you saw me in your mirror and you didn’t touch your brakes. In other words he gave me the ticket because I didn’t “respect” him enough.

We heart what you’re “saying.”

What’s appalling is what you’re trying to DO.

“Mid-day, with traffic zooming by. A woman who was barefoot, was out running in traffic.”

Hey I hear ya. A barefoot woman on the freeway needs a good lesson. Just grabbing her and throwing her on the ground and then flipping her over and cuffing her would not have got the message through like 10-15 punches in the face. Nothing like taking a few shots to the head to make a woman straighten up and fly right. This is right out of the police academy handbook for dealing with a 110 lb woman if you are 6 ft and 190 lbs.

Except she was running on the freeway.

Running on a freeway?

There was heavy traffic.

She might have gotten hurt.

(?)

In my opinion, I am presenting an opinion, this guy may be innocent. May be. Just presenting that as a possibility, to oppose the impression from snapshots, taken from the videotape which seem to present the opposite impression.

The video snapshots, appear to be presented with a (possible) agenda. I am trying to present balance.

What is it you believe I am trying to do?

I'll bet you would like this joke ...

What do you say to a woman with a black eye ... nothing you already told her once

Actually, everything you said is inapplicable. All of it. That’s pretty amazing. You basically summarized the entire profession of law enforcement totally backwards.

Thanks for your Common Core post. Here’s a participation award, a shiny ribbon and a glass of juice.

Wow beating up an unarmed homeless woman? Good grief! This looks like type of stuff you see in 3rd world police states and certainly not the America I know.

We all know men are waaaaay stronger than women too. I'm sorry but this cop should be fired immediately, arrested and charged with felony assault.

You can clearly see that she is trying to protect herself from the knock out blows the cop is trying to deliver. Who wouldn't do that?

These type of videos hurt the majority of good police officers that I know are out there and have my 100 percent my support.

This Thug with a badge should get fired and never allowed to do police work ever again... at the very least. Although I would prefer to see him charged with felony assault. Think about it if the roles were reverse? You know the citizen would be charged with felony assault with the intent to kill.

We need good law abiding police officers and not Third World Thugs with badges on the street IMO.
