Amy Adams has class—even if it means flying coach. The 39-year-old Oscar nominee gave up her first-class seat on a Friday flight for a U.S. serviceman.
Accounts of the seat swap were posted to Twitter by fellow passengers flying to Los Angeles from Detroit. “When we were waiting to board, I saw her glance the soldier’s way and then she said something to the person she was traveling with,” said Jemele Hill, co-host of ESPN’s “Numbers Never Lie,” who was also on the flight. “Before we took off she had vacated her seat and the flight attendant brought the soldier to her seat.”

How refreshing. Good for her. Its so much nicer to see this than the normal stories about some actor getting drunk in First Class and making an ass out of himself, or wanting “privacy” and forcing everyone around him to feel uncomfortable.

I’m 62 and I’m not keen on bending for TSA.
AF members aren’t allowed to fly first class in uniform. I was offered a first class seat by the president of American Airlines while in uniform and had to tell him I couldn’t accept was appreciated if. He said he’d had other AF members take him up on it. I said “I’m a JAG. I can’t”. Not sure he understood.

I just don’t get all jazzed up, ooohing and aaahing over “celebrities.” She didn’t do anything others wouldn’t have done but I guess when you are Hollywood, being nice to a lowly serviceperson is newsworthy. Maybe if Americans didn’t have their heads in the clouds over entertainers they would recognize that this country is going down the toilet.
