Russian President Vladimir Putin has a new weapon at his disposal: a top-secret nuclear submarine named Severodvinsk.
The fourth-generation vessel, the first Yasen K-560 nuclear submarine, was christened Tuesday, the Russian news agency ITAR-TASS reported.

Heck, that's nothing. Barack Obama has one that is even more secret. It is so secret, he doesn't know he has it and won't know unless the newspapers write a story about it.
These are very capable subs...and a hybrnd between SSN and SSGN. They can perform both roles.
It is what we plan to do with later blocks of the Virginia Class with the variable payload module that will be inserted aft of the island to allow them to carry a lot more SLCMs as the Ohio SSGNs retire.
The Russians are going to build quite a few of these.
