I saw one of those "Top Zagat rated Pizzas of the 50 states" slideshows recently... and NM's pizza was from Albuquerque:

Of course, NM green is well known... I had green sauce once, in Hobbs... with Chileques and eggs for breakfast... Pain. Pure pain.... but oh so good. I was dreadfully disappointed to see the NJ pick was some awful cheesesteak and steakfries monstrosity... It should have been DeLorenzo's in Trenton... a Zagat rated small family pizza parlor in the family home... they have a clam pie that is a bit different... but their regular pies are just... amazing.

The sausage is a hell of a lot healthier than the refined white flour in the crust or the sugar in the tomato sauce.

Before Foxwwoods the very best chowder I had was on Cape Cod, one summer we went there while I was a teenager. I have no idea of the name or the place, but it was the first time I got chowder with a pat of butter on it. OHMIGOSH, did I love that!

It was really excellent, as well it should have been, on Cape Cod and everything!

seriously... that pie is 50% unnecessary filler... it does look good... but God why all the bread? I hate food waste, but I would knife and fork that and leave a bunch of crust for the rats in the dumpster out back. Fortunately when I was living in Galesburg, across the street was the Pizza House... and they had thin crust that the guys at the shop called cardboard... it was weird though that they checkerboard cut it.

Pre-heat the oven to 450 F.

Take a raw flour tortilla.

Spray some olive oil on the bottom.

Spread some pizza sauce on the tortilla (I use Contadina)

Cover with shredded Mozzarella or whatever you like

Add your meat toppings

Place in pre-heated oven for 8 minutes.

That makes a pretty good thin crust pizza.

Quick, cheap, easy and tastes plenty good.

Arugula v. Sausage. Hmm. That’s a hard choice. NOT! Sausage everytime.

I know a vegetarian who orders pepperoni pizza and throws the meat into the garbage. Excuse me, but that pizza has meat drippings on it so it isn’t vegetarian and, a really big AND, that animal gave it’s life only to be thrown into the garbage. Disgusting.

My favorite part of any pizza is the edges.

I'll eat the "pizza" part and put the edges off to the side. Then I eat the edges last.

Now there is a place in Colorado that I like, they do their pizza more different. It's called Beau Jo's and they do what they call Mountain Pies.

They have a bottle of Madhava mountain flower honey, on the table. After you eat the center, put some honey on the crust.

Well, placed before me was a disgusting thin liquid with chunks of tomato in it.”Manhattan clam chowder” I was told.

Heh, when I was a kid, I don't think anyone (native) in California had ever heard of Manhatten style clam chowder. As far as I knew, there was only one kind of clam chowder (what I now know is Boston style), which I loved. I have relatives on the east coast, so one time visiting some of them, I was at a restaurant and ordered clam chowder, thinking that, on the east coast, the clam chowder must be more authentic and thus even better. When they put the Manhatten clam chowder in front of me, I looked at it and said, "Hey, I ordered clam chowder!" Manhatten style sucks.

Oops, not Boston style, but New England style. Darn ignorant west coasters!

Reminds me of a friend of mine - sits down to a double cheese burger large enough to have its own zip code, a mountain a french fries, and says, “do you have any Sweet and Low.”

I'd eat that meal and wash it down with a Diet Coke. I'm not over weight, I simply do not like the sugary taste of regular Coke.

I'm eating left over pizza, as I type and drinking .....Diet Coke.

Burp.

I started drinking diet when I hit 220 because sodas were one of the main culprits, I don’t function well without caffeine and I’m just not a coffee drinker other than in cold weather. I don’t “need” to drink diet anymore being a comparatively svelte 190, but regular cola tastes way too sweet now for regular consumption, I can feel it on my teeth, lol.

Uhm, you missed one. (self-made up mnemonic)

That’s a great idea!

Reminds me of when I was a kid. We would roll out canned biscuits really thin and add our own toppings.

That actually sounds good — I love green chiles but never thought to put them on a pizza. Thanks for the idea!
