NEW YORK (AP) — A slice of the New York City area mainstream — a police officer, a fire department paramedic, a rabbi, a nurse, a Boy Scout leader — used the Internet to anonymously collect and trade child pornography, federal officials said Wednesday.

The six were among at least 70 men and one woman charged in a five-week operation by the Homeland Security Investigations arm of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Federal officials, who planned to announce the arrests a news conference later Wednesday, call it one of the largest local roundups ever of people who collect images of children having sex — and a stark reminder that they come from all segments of society.

ICE is part of DHS, like the FBI is part of DOJ. ICE is a combination of parts of two legacy agencies, INS and US Customs Investigations. Their biggest obstacles are the politicians that don’t allow them to enforce the law. That has happened under both this administration and the last.

I just want to give you guys an idea of what I deal with as the keeper of this 12 years running ping list.

This unit, Responsibility2nd, frequently pings me to various threads filled with libertarian hatred all the time (at least 5 today - quite obsessive). His pings are usually tagged with what he thinks is a witty - but usually pretty lame - anti-libertarian remark.

Well today, it actually pinged me to a Child Porn thread...

CHILD PORN!

His posting history of hatred against libertarian leaning folks on FR is quite apparent if you dig back. But by pinging the Libertarian list owner to a CHILD PORN thread, he has more or less just tacitly accused over 400 freepers of endorsing CHILD PORN.

Now I've been on FR for almost a decade, and I've really never seen anything this far beyond the pale. All of you mothers, sisters, brothers, Marines, Grunts, financial wizards, and genreally great freepers who have been on my list for years - this is what this creature thinks you're about...otherwise it wouldn't be trying to use my list to reach you.

Is this really what this forum has become?

PS: I really never ping trolls, and never will again. But I just wanted you guys to know, this is what is out there nowadays. And apparently it's allowed to operate freely...

I struck a nerve did I? Over target - receiving flak and all that, huh?

Look; I could link child porn to the libertarian mindset if I wanted to, but that’s not the issue I’ll make at this time.

What is the issue, what is obvious to all here at FR - and becoming clearer by the day - is that modern libertarianism is anathema to all things conservative. Its immoral.

I’d no sooner support a libertarian than a RINO. And the sooner you social libs understand this is the overriding ideal here at FR and get on board with conservative values, the better off you’ll be.
