Michelle Obama Cites View of Growing Segregation

TOPEKA, Kan. — Sixty years after the Supreme Court outlawed “separate but equal” schools for blacks and whites, civil rights advocates say American schools are becoming increasingly segregated, while the first lady, Michelle Obama, lamented that “many young people are going to schools with kids who look just like them.”
“Today, by some measures, our schools are as segregated as they were back when Dr. King gave his final speech,” Mrs. Obama told 1,200 graduating high school seniors Friday here in the city that gave rise to the landmark Brown v. Board of Education case.

She wallows in an ideology that survives and thrives by stoking hatred between various racial, ethnic and economic groups, then pretends to lament the fact that the groups don’t get along with each other very well.

Yep, we’ve come a long way, but there’s still a long way to go.
The fact that segregated schools today are due to housing patterns is not mentioned.
The fact that the Fair Housing Act of 1968, which banned outright discrimination in housing, is not mentioned.
The fact that neighborhoods in her beloved Chicago and other places are segregated due to individual choices, freely made by people of all races, is not mentioned.
It gets tiresome to be lectured by liberals that, for all that has been done in the area of civil rights, that we haven’t done enough, and that there is still a long way to go.
These speeches will be recycled around July 2nd, which is the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. At that time, we will hear the same things. We will hear that great progress has been made in civil rights, but, will be lectured by some liberals that we haven’t yet come far enough to stamp out the last vestiges of discrimination from our society.

If SEGREGATION OF SCHOOLS is coming back it is because people are voting with their feet, fleeing the hell holes the LIBS have created and moving to distant safe school districts.
Tell that to the lilly white democrats in San Francisco, Berkely, Vail, Aspen, Boulder, Monterrey, etc, that they need to let blacks in. We’ll see who’s really in charge of the democrat party real quick.
Most liberals live far removed from the problems their politics create.
You might want to consult with your hubby, the Waycisst in Chief, about that. It's his actions, and those of people who share his values and beliefs, that causes all the racial tension.
Blacks have no interest in adopting the cultural norms of the majority. As long as that’s the case, there will always be self imposed segregation (or worse) in this country.
Guess then we should get rid of all “Historically Black Colleges.”
And the cause......look in the mirror, Mooch.

What exactly should be done about school segregation, that hasn’t already been tried?
We have merged school districts together, we have done busing to achieve racial balance, we have created magnet schools with special programs, open to all students in a school districts, and we have seen open enrollment in some places, in which any student can attend any school within the district.
And perhaps some other tactics have been used.
Results? Well, with busing, many whites voted with their feet, and pulled out of public schools or moved to other school districts. So those left behind were increasingly minority students.
With magnet schools with special programs, the best motivated students, of any race, got to go to these schools, leaving behind everyone else, who were mostly minorities.
In places with completely open enrollment, certain schools were perceived as being better, with the result that some got to attend such schools, and those left behind attended inferior schools.
What else can we do? With busing especially, the unintended consequences of seeing big numbers of white students move out, meant that there weren’t enough white students left to go around to have meaningful integration.
I’m all ears, if what I have mentioned is incorrect, or if anyone can point to any major successful integration plan for schools.
In my experience and knowledge, the busing plans at best work for only a couple of years, because whites steadily leave the schools, through graduation, moving out, or going to private schools. These white students were not replaced by new generations of white students, so the student bodies became increasingly minority, defeating the purpose of busing in the first place.
No wonder. No telling who the fathers are.
No, it is natural.
