The gray Tabby has been treated sooooo well by the family that he(?)/she has chosen to live with that he(?)/she takes it as a matter of duty to protect that family, HER Family.
I have a gray Tabby female (fixed) who hunts for me. I know this because she leaves the remains of her furry kills at my doorstep.
BTW, notice in the video how smart she is:
* She attacks rapidly
* Leads, airborne with her left front claws aimed at the dog’s eyes
* Follows up with her right front claws on the dog’s tender left jowls
* Leaps high
* Rotates in mid-air so that her head is rotated away from the dog’s teeth
* Slams the full force of her 10-15 pound body into side of the dog’s belly between the ribs and the right hip of the dog using her left hip as the point of impact
* Thus, she is between the dog and her “son” and the impact pushes the dog away from her “son.”
* Then momentarily eyeing her “son” to be sure he is out of danger
* She gives another fast charge at the dog
* Doubles back under the car to stand guard under the car near her “son”
* and steps out from under the safety of the car for closer, and more dangerous, guard duty when her “son’s” other Mother runs to get help.
BTW, if you do get a cat, NEVER try to break up a cat fight, as they fight like true Berserk Vikings, - - - the land of my Ancestors!

Saw that vid on LiveLeak yesterday... Have to admit, I’ve never seen a cat defend like that one did.. was amazing.
Also, pics of the kid’s wounds were under the vid itself, was nasty :/ Good on the kitty for redirecting the dog.
There was also a follow-up (because someone asked why the mom ran off).. The dog merely went to the opposite side of the car and the mom went there to keep the dog away from the son.. She also got bitten.
The good news is that the vicious dog that bit young boy before being chased away by cat will be put down.
