The organization has changed into a massive behemoth and is now a money making machine which makes executives rich at the expense of the kids and where children are exposed to molestation and are under constant pressure to abandon the original laws in favor of the politically correct.
For 22k an otherwise smart lady risks JAIL, a good job, and is willing to betray thousands of little girls. This isn’t just dumb, there is something psychologically wrong with this woman.

The trade-off does hardly seem worth it. What would possess someone to do this? (maybe ‘possess’ is the word?)
Up to 20 years means roughly $1K/year for the embezzlement. Even if she gets a lesser sentence (not likely given the victims), her reputation is shattered. She’ll never see a decent job again, nor should she.

She was using her GSA/VA credit card for her and her family’s benefit while serving as its CEO (only about a year). They spent more on forensic scientists to track her abuse of the card (>$50K) than she’d embezzled (>$22K).
I just can’t understand why she’d jeopardize everything good in her life (family/job/reputation/freedom) in such a petty way. (If I were gonna embezzle, at least I would hope to make it worthwhile!)
She will get 20 years for embezzlement. Al Gore, Reid, The Kennedy’s... Nothing.
They should check her pantries too. Probably full of illicit boxes of Thin Mints and Samoas.

When you think of it in cookie terms:, GS cookies at $4/box (with all the kids’ time expended, usually in the cold) into $22,979 is 5745 boxes. Probably what’s sold by one minor council in a season.
