Diamond Bar Ranch in NM Seized by US Forest Service

Officials say that the Laney’s can redeem their 80 cattle for $40,950

Southwest New Mexico – The Diamond Bar Ranch was acquired by the Laney family in 1986, and its adjacent Laney Cattle Company was allowed to utilize grazing lands since 1883. According to the US Forest Service, however, they are no longer entitled to do so, and the USFS has posted notices along the fence line of their property advising people not to attempt to enter the ranch. Lands are being seized, and the cattle removed, “one way or the other.”

Now they say that the cattle may be redeemed if the Laney’s pay for the costs of rounding up the 80 head of cattle… a hefty $40,950.

Reductions in the herds, loss of appeals, a hard life all because of a fish

Originally, the Laney property was just 115 acres surrounded by around 144,000 acres of public lands for which Mr. Laney paid grazing rights. But after a “study” by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service decided that the lands could not sustain his 1,188 head of cattle, the Forest Service reduced his cattle herd to a meager 300 head.

Kit’s fight for the land and the ranching lifestyle cost him dearly over the years, even to the point of a divorce, as both Kit and Sherry grew exhausted from the battle. They were barred from improvements on the “wilderness” land for several years, which required them to ride out to livestock on horseback rather than hop in a truck. That and the continual stress of appeals, took a toll, though they eventually reconciled.

There most certainly are places in NM that require 500 acres/AUM, but the Gila does not fall into that category.

I really don’t think ‘luck’ will have anything to do with keeping the libtard agenda at bay. The Gang Greens have so much financial backing and are relentless. It puts ‘us’ on a constant defensive position. It is the exact same battle we are fighting to save our Republic. Who would have ever thought, that in this country, this very conversation we are having is being recorded for all history, wether or not we use a public forum such as this, or do so in private? Who would have thought that in order to stand up for Bundy, U.S. Citizens had to do such in caged off areas? There are bus stops for the school children in Catron County that have protective ‘cages’ at the bus stops that the children can flee into if the re-introduced Mexican Gray Wolves decide they are hungry.

Fortunately, NM Rep Steve Pearce DOES stand up for us, but he is only one man. Gov Susana is a good woman but she is getting stars in her eyes at the prospect of ‘rising’ onto the national stage (her advisor, Jay, needs to go). It is a battle taking on one rancher, one logging company, one farmer and one mine at a time. I hate to sound cliche, but united we must stand!

Reminds me about the Federal Game Wardens that moved into South Louisiana to stop the over the limit duck hunting. After two of them disappeared never to be found the Feds moved on......

Then there is the crackdown on the pot growing operations in Northern California. After the Feds came in and cracked down on the growers, the cartels set the old growth forests on fire. The scorched earth approach worked to stop the crackdown.....

The moral of the stories are that when faced with the risk of life and property, the individuals tasked with performing the deeds may realize that the outcome can be much worse.....

I’m praying that the testosterone levels of all participants in this matter drop drastically. we don’t need anyone hanging from a tree, at least no yet. I think the sheer number of respondents to the Bundy Ranch exhibited a earth shattering echo across all of America that us patriots are ready, willing and able to defend our liberty and property rights against all corrupt politicians who are using federal agencies for personal gain.

The Center For Biological Diversity receives federal grants to pursue their goals. They get tax dollars to sue on behalf of the CBD! The Republicans know all about it and don’t do squat about it.

United we must stand if we want to win.

“The Center For Biological Diversity receives federal grants to pursue their goals.”

Whoa!!! So our tax dollars are used by CBD to sue our government, which in turn our tax dollars are used for the proceedings? Do you have documentation links?

I agree with your lowering of “testosterone” comment...

I know in many parts of the country poaching is almost a lifestyle. I would not put it on the same footing as rancher’s running their cattle on land where they have water and usage rights.

But back to the point, these Feds are going to be taking a closer look at their “risk assessment” the next time they go after a rancher. I am glad that Bundy got the support, and was not treated like the usual “lone, old crazy guy that refused to pay his fee...”

Yes they use our tax dollars to fund their craziness to put ranchers and farmers out of business.

I’ve actually had more than one liberal tell me the IRS investigation and refusing C-4 status to TEA party groups was good as they were “Right-wing” and C-4 groups are not supposed to be political. Well isn’t this group (CFBD), SPLC, and a host of other environmental and “civil rights” groups “Left-wing” and extremely political?

I then ask them, “So when (or if) a Republican ever gets in office, we can revoke all the Leftist groups C-4 status?”

The howls are heard for miles!

In any case we should. I think Congress should at least cut all funding. Doesn’t Boehner realize that CFBD will use it’s funds to defeat Republicans that give him his majority in the first place? Does he really mean to fund his foes?

It’s funny how when illegal immigrants, drug runners, and scum bags engaged in human trafficking, trash our parks, lakes, and forests along the border......environmental concerns seem to vanish!!!!

What gets me about this whole deal is , The land in question is OPEN RANGE ,that means that if the government doesn't want the cattle on it they have to put up fences to keep the cattle out . Not send JBT with guns.

Question! I would like to know how many people in official capacity from bottom to top i.e. at city, county, states, and federal level who wear badges and arms are there in the USA. I tend to think the total number is way beyond what ordinary citizens are led to believe or talked about. Leave out the state and national guard personnel unless such also serve as regular so called law enforcement people. Is there info on such numbers?

* The EPA assigns one million acres to previous owners in Wyoming.

* The BLM Rustles cattle in Nevada.

* Now the USFS Rustles Cattle in New Mexico.

What will Speaker Boehner do now to punish these lawless Federal Bureaus?

BTW, have y’all noticed that Obama is very effectively using these lawless events by his Bureaus to distract from the NSA, Benghazi, IRS and Obamacare Scandals?

Same thing with Laetrile and Baking Soda.

We get our 35% food grade peroxide on line from a girl named Celeste.
