Just a month before his next film X-Men: Days of Future Past is set to release, director Bryan Singer has been accused of child molestation. According to documents filed in Hawaii, 31-year-old Michael Egan claims Singer used his power in the entertainment industry to sexually exploit him when he was an underage teen actor striking it out in Los Angeles. Now Egan is suing the director, for $300,000 for the 'catastrophic psychological and emotional injuries' he says he suffered, the documents filed Wednesday explain.

Yeah. There are large numbers of cases where this happens, and the victim’s trauma doesn’t initiate for years or decades later.

I’ve heard the casting couch has neither age limit nor gender preference. If you think about it, this is probably why most actors and actresses are so screwed up.
My mind wasn’t actually going there—didn’t intend double entendre.
Child actors are abused by Hollywood. Think about where some are now. I bet they get drugged to him them get RAPED.

If anything happened to me as a kid, I had enough confidence in my parents that they wouldn’t have been in denial. They would have done everything in their power AT THE TIME to bring this guy to justice. I have less sympathy for someone who takes civil action after so many years—I think they have dollar signs in their head.
Not to mention, there is an amazing sense of shame and guilt that goes along with this. It takes a great deal of courage to come forward, especially for boys. You’d be surprised how many parents do not want to come forward also. They think they can handle it at home or in therapy without the embarrassment of the courts. The pervert goes on to rape again and again.
I have long believed that most actors and actresses have been physically and emotionally violated at some point in their youth and that's why almost all of them are whack jobs.
The mind’s ability to shunt aside things people don’t want to think about degrades rapidly at a point in one’s thirties or forties.
That is why victims who were minors when something happened ( be it abuse or the trauma from some disaster such as a fatal wreck or a tornado where they lost family) suddenly fall apart as they approach middle age. They coped with whatever happened by simply being able to not think about for years, and if they die young they never have to. Trying to force them to think about earlier it will generally make them run away or make them angry.
Read up a little on post traumatic stress.
