Well...we made it thru the actual eclipse. I did wake up at about 2:30, but cloud cover was heavy...sorta saw a darkish weird looking.
Thread here on FR (and posts on Twitter) about Feds being ready to storm BundyRanch (shades of RubyRidge/Waco). No uptick (yet) in EQs; but snow across the plains (and we get snow showers later!)... Let’s see what else happens today.
I’ve been following the Bundy threads. Yes, it looks like the feds are gearing up for something. Prayers for the safety of the Bundys and the militias gathering there.

I’m ready for a boring news day. I’m ready for a day where the government is shrunk to almost imperceptible size and we can go about our business unobstructed. No muslims in our country who want to blow us up. No feds taking away the rights of honest citizens. I just want peace and prosperity. Just let me take care of me and mine.
Yep, 27F and a half to an inch of snow... it won’t last long with a high today of 39F.... crap when will this winter end?

When will it end? Dunno but it looks like a strong El Niño. That usually makes for dry, warm summer and fall east of the Mississippi. If it’s extra strong it will make next winter milder too.
When I went to work it was clear. By the time of the eclipse it was cloudy.
Last minute filing local tax yesterday. New tax service. Went from a third of a page simple form to a complicated 7 page package. The local government here is a democrat paradise! All to calculate 1%! And since it is deducted we never owe anything.

I agree...but I can’t help but feel there is another shoe that is gonna drop. Maybe I’ve bought into the “BloodMoon” hype, but to me, EVERYTHING seems off kilter. :-/
I think this winter will not end til the July thaw.

That’s RIGHT!!! Today is TAX DAY!?!? (We filed back in February)...that makes my Spidey senses even more on edge...

On our new local 7 page income tax form it has 2 columns, one for you and one for a spouse. It also has checkbox for married filing jointly.
Then there is a warning: YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO COMBINE INCOMES!
Just paid my daughter’s local wage tax from her part-time job. Under this wonderful new system where all local taxes in PA get funneled through a centralized system, we filled out the form, calculated the tax, wrote the check and had everything ready to go.
Except....nowhere on the form does it tell you to WHOM do you make your check out. The local treasurer or this tax service handling the centralized collections?
Had to make 3 phone calls to find out checks have to be made payable to something called the AACCTCD. (????)
Gubbermint.....YEEEEESHHHH!
