Black Senior Forced to Choose: Obama or Jesus.
American Thinker ^ | March 17, 2014 | Lloyd Marcus

Posted on 03/17/2014 6:17:44 AM PDT by imardmd1

I had an extraordinary telephone conservation with my 86-year-old black dad, a lifelong Democrat and huge Obama fan. He called to ask me, "Is Obama anti-Christian?"

Dad has been a Christian pastor for over 50 years. I said, "Dad, I have been telling you about Obama's anti-Christian policies for the past five years." Dad replied, "And I have not been listening."

Dad confessed that he simply could not bring himself to go against a black man in the White House. I felt that dad was expressing the sentiments of many blacks of his era. I asked him to explain why he could not honestly assess our black president.

Dad became passionate. He said it was because of deep, deep scars he suffered at the hands of white people. Dad said, "I don't hate white people, but my scars run very deep – calling me a n***** and rubbing my head for luck."

< snip >

. . . I felt emboldened to challenge Dad regarding this sensitive issue. I said, "Dad, once you know the truth about Obama, which loyalty will reign supreme? Will it be your loyalty to a fellow black man or your commitment to Jesus Christ?"

Dad chuckled and replied without hesitation, "It will be to Jesus Christ."

“Dad confessed that he simply could not bring himself to go against a black man in the White House.”

Nothing racist about that...

Glad to see the pastor has been awakened to the reality of his blind vote(s).

My Irish grandma was the same way. Voting Democrat was an article of faith for her. Reagan made the difference.

Dad confessed that he simply could not bring himself to go against a black man in the White House

And of course, there's nothing remotely racist about that, now is there? <sarcasm>

Just another democrat/black hypocrite, who can't see that this is every bit as racist as someone NOT supporting Obama because he is (half) black.

Obama supporters believe there is no difference, which is what their Dear Leader believes.

Yes, but put another way - there were more white men who did nothing to the old Pastor than those who did…..and yet…..

“MLK must be spinning like a gyroscope in his grave...”

I’m sorry, but I think MLK is resting quite nicely at how things have turned out. MLK has be raised to sainthood just like Mandela.

I know..I’m racist.

That sounds like my father in Detroit, except his epiphany has yet to happen. As far as my dad is concerned, race relations in America are the same as during the Eisenhouer administration.

MLK must be spinning like a gyroscope in his grave...

Wrong.

King would walk up to Sharpton and Jackson and be like "Yo mah bruthas, y'all be franchisin' mah name, where's mah cut?"

( /Ebonics)

As far as the race industry goes, King would be into it up to his eyebrows.

And a distorted view that undying loyalty to Obama exacts revenge on white people.

In my view, many who profess Christ in the black community believe another gospel. Most have been taught the social gospel and are unable to recognize what is and is not biblical Christianity, and that leads to this huge disconnect in the political arena. True Holy Spirit regeneration would do wonders for the political views of most blacks, not to mention what it would do for their souls.

And the truth is another gospel is now being preached among large swaths of white evangelicalism, too.

Dad confessed that he simply could not bring himself to go against a black man in the White House.

Ninety-five percent of blacks approve of the Marxist Mulatto. Let that number sink in: NINETY-FIVE PERCENT. If you lined up twenty blacks, nineteen of them love Odinga.

LBJ is quoted as saying, "I'll have those n***ers voting Democrat for 200 years." The siren song of "Where's my free $hit?" ensures their loyalty. Only 150 years to go...

How about not knocking the guy? You ever try to change the mind of an 86 year-old? Let’s be glad he (and believe me - many other black folks) are coming around to see what is sitting in the white house.

Yes, I know some of you won’t believe that. It’s because the state-sponsored media won’t report it. But when gay has become the new black, the urban economy has gone totally south, and a whole new minority is being imported to replace the black minority voting block - all courtesy of the current occupant at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, don’t think black folks haven’t noticed. Just don’t expect to see their anger and disgust on the front page of the New York Times.

I should have added that my comment wasn’t about Pastor Marcus. Mine was a general comment based on my experiences with the black community in Memphis and in Mississippi. I certainly know MANY in the black community who have truly been born again, but I also know many who don’t have any knowledge of the gospel, despite a lifetime in the church. This latter group always make me sad. We often use the same words, but it never takes long to recognize they have wildly different meanings.

Besides your changing the articulate MLK into a jive talker, what's your proof of that ? Or did you just pull it from your nether regions ?

Imagine if a white person had said he could not go against a white person in the white house?

Racism works both ways...

And this “late convert to christianity” has done a whole lot more for muslims than for christians or jews.
