What Would You Select As Your Last Meal ?

Ted Bundy declined a 'special' meal, so was given the traditional last meal - steak (medium rare) eggs (over easy), hash browns, toast with butter, jelly, milk and juice. Timothy McVeigh asked only for 2 pints of mint chocolate chip ice cream. What would you pick?

Oysters, raw, steamed, stewed, Rockafeller, and fried. I especially like fried oysters served as a Hangtown Fry which is fried oysters with scrambled eggs.
Add corn on the cob and salad to that and sticky toffee pudding for dessert.

Considering most of us don’t have our ending so well planned out for us like Ted Bundy had, it makes sense for us to select every meal as if it were our last. <:)

We used to bring home the bones for the dogs. They were REALLY sweet dogs UNTIL they smelled those BONES. Then, they turned into VICIOUS WOLVES!! We had to separate them and keep them separated for an hour or so!

Around 1970 I ordered fried oysters from a restaurant in Ft. Walton Bch., FL. It was a great meal. Around 20 years later I ate at the same restaurant which had moved to another location. The fried oysters were just barely edible.

Rickey Ray Rector. His ‘slowness’ was the result of a suicide attempt after the murders in which he shot himself in the head and survived but was brain damaged as a result. There is no evidence to suggest he was intellectually impaired at the time of the murders, and was therefore fully culpable for them and got what he deserved.

When I was a kid we used to buck hay. They would put on a spread to die for. Some would just take you to the snack shack but I never worked for them again.

The 20 years on death row would probably settle your stomach.

Well, it certainly wouldn’t be anything that wasn’t health-conscious.

I’d start off with a couple of cocktails maybe Sazeracs and then an arugala and endive salad with a citrus vinnegrette dressing.

Main course either roast duck cherry le orange or soft shell crab if in seson with fresh asparagus and a bottle of Stag’s Leap Cabernet.

For dessert cherry jubilee with a bottle of Madeira. So by the time they fire up ole Sparky I’ll be full and also so sloshed that I won’t know or care whats happening. :-)

Fried Osters? If they aren’t on the half shell, they are not editable. :)

Fried oysters are apparently a bit difficult to get just right. When they are, they are delicious. I grew up in the Florida Panhandle and in this area fresh mullet is really good. I have heard it is not as tasty in other areas.

I think everyone in our family liked oysters on the half shell, of course from Apalachicola. For some reason I never cared for them that way.

Contrary to common belief, you can't just order anything for a last meal. Most states have a limit of $40 and ban alcoholic beverages, which makes ordering anything really fancy pointless because you should accompany any good food with wine, beer or some other alcohol.
