Posted on 02/20/2014 11:39:48 AM PST by MNDude

I'm hearing about the Lego Movie come up in conversation a lot lately. Has anyone here seen it? Is it any good?

Fantastic! See it as many times as you can, but pay full price!

Disclosure: I have not seen the film.

Yes. Great movie for Lego fans/kids. Not anti-capitalist at all. More like anti-control freak.

I’m thinking it takes product placement to a new level.

Weird how someone posted a review on twitter saying the movie was very anti-capitalist..to me it doesn’t seem so, yes they promote LEGO’S but I dont have a problem with that, I have a problem with one of the stars in the movie(Elizabeth Banks) who is a pro abortion lover, otherwise I wouldnt mind seeing the movie

There are tons of Lego shorts, movies, toons, etcc. already out there. It’s almost a genre on its own. I have a very smart “special” needs 5-year old who’s a Lego fan and “Master Builder” (you would have to see the movie to understand). He enjoyed it immensely as did all kids in the audience. It’s very well made, great special effects, and it has a plot that will surprise you at the end.

Saw it, liked it a lot. Sit mid-theater or back, LOTS happening on the screen and you’ll want to catch everything without rubbernecking too much.

I concur, except it is just plain fun, period! I took my 19 year old College Freshman (Mech Eng) and my 49 year old self last Sunday, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it.. Well worth the money, need to see it on the big screen. Likely the most entertaining movie I've seen in a couple of years.

We took our 7 year old grandson to see it and it was fun! Lots of humor for adults. The 3D is amazing.

Yeah, I was relieved, along these lines. With hyper-leftist Will Ferrell starring as "President Business," I feared this was going to be ham-handed anti-business allegory. As you say, though, it's more about how kids (and adults) need both rules AND freedom, not just rules.
