Is Hillary Clinton Too Old to Run?
National Journal ^ | 2/14/14 | Charlie Cook

Posted on 02/14/2014 9:48:24 AM PST by illiac

At least every week now, there is a new story supporting the narrative of an inevitable 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential bid. Indeed, the conventional wisdom is that it is an absolute certainty that she will run. If anyone is currently saying, flat out, that Hillary isn't running, I haven't come across them. Is the inevitability of her run really as certain as the conventional wisdom suggests, and further, is it unfolding in an optimal manner for the potential candidate?

In all likelihood, Clinton will not make a final, "go-or-no-go" decision until early next year, after the dust has settled from the midterm election. Generally speaking, few presidential contenders make their final decisions before the preceding midterm, and, with the notable exception of Texas Gov. Rick Perry in 2011, most have been laying the groundwork for a long time for a potential run. Most have already been attending countless state and county Jefferson-Jackson (for Democrats) or Lincoln (for Republicans) dinners, meet and greets, and other events to prepare for the potential campaign and the ensuring shakedown (if they do, in fact, decide to run).

Hillary should be sitting in a prison cell wondering why they never have chocolate pudding.

I'm hoping for an ominous report from her personal doctor urging her to avoid stress.

Because every time I turn around I hear from some otherwise intelligent female declaring their support for this disaster of a candidate. I'm afraid she can count on more than 50% of the vote without even breaking a sweat.

I have to disagree.

Those people who say Hillary is the smartest woman in the world are the very same people who say Michelle Obama is beautiful.

Hillary is as far from smart as Michelle is far from beautiful.

Doesn’t mean she won’t be elected in this idiot infested country, but if she is elected, we will then have a very stupid and talentless woman as president.

I’d say the only person who stands a chance of beating her is Cruz.

I’d also say that there’s a very good chance that Obama is going to be our last president.

You may not realize how much you just complimented one Robert J. Dole, formerly of KS.

That took me a moment. My first reaction was "Robert Dole didn't join the DC office of Atlanta law firm King & Spalding (K&S) after he left Congress, he joined the DC office of Atlanta law firm Alston & Bird (A&B)."

I have tunnel vision.

Yes she’s too old! She has been running for this office since the 1990’s.

Ready for Hillary? Sorry, past the expiration date.

I’d say the only person who stands a chance of beating her is Cruz.

I have no doubt Cruz would be formidable.

Palin would also be formidable, but unfortunately I doubt that she will again.

While I respect and love Palin, I do not believe that she had made herself a visible enough player in recent time to be positioned properly to make a successful run.

Though I could be wrong on this, just my opinion. If she ran she would have my support, but my preference is Cruz who is just a standout.

What a rare person this man is.

What she is is too communist, too dishonest, too stupid, and too without talent to run.

Sounds like somebody who was justm re-elected not too long ago.

Never underestimate the stupidity of LIV or the deviousness of the Democrat Party.

Honestly I don’t underestimate the stupidity of anyone in this country.

We have really cornered the market on that precious commodity ;/

They aren’t stupid.
The entitlement army votes rationally - for the govt gravy.
Throw in the crony capitalist rich to provide the campaign $$ and you have a formidable political coalition.

Yes they are stupid.

They do not realize that when the government no longer needs their vote and runs out of gravy that they will then be turned into gravy.

They are both short sighted and stupid.

Whether or not it is fair to compare Hillary to Bob Dole, one thing is certain.

Hillary will never appear on TV in Viagra commercials.
