Student took the photo during a school field trip to the University of Alabama at Birminghams biology department.
LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala., Feb. 5 (UPI) -- If they want to discipline her, administrators have this student dead to rights An Alabama high school senior could be suspended after she posted an Instagram selfie with a cadaver while on a school field trip to the University of Alabama at Birminghams biology department.
The student, who attends Clements High School in Limestone County, used her cellphone to take a photo of herself with a dead body that had been donated to the school. According to WHNT News 19, sheets are not supposed to be removed from donated bodies and cellphones were prohibited during the tour.

OK, I admit it. Sounds like something I WOULD do.
I’m thinking this is a dead subject.
Hey, your picture’s on the web... Some girl took a selfie with you.
Alabama.............figures.
Well, at least she took an interest in the subject.
“If they want to discipline her, administrators have this student dead to rights”
Nice
6 posts and no “Weekend with Bernie” comments?????
“He’s dead, Jim”...
There was a scandal when I was at USF. The med students would take cadaver’s parts and hide them in desk drawers, lockers, etc. People donated their bodies for science, not for frat parties. (BTW, the cafeteria had a glass wall that overlooked freezers across the hall. When the freezers were open you’d be munching down on a grease burger and looking at dead things. Talk about poor planning!)
Did the cadaver complain about this or just remain silent?
I can see why they discliplined her.
She took a picture of herself and a stiffie.
Thats just wrong, right there.
What killed the dead guy?
“he went viral”
How do you like that? The guy gets “GROPED” more times dead than I do alive.”
How’s that?
About 30 years ago, some students at Columbia Med took an arm ( up to the elbow) from a cadaver..They got on a NYC subway in rush hour..then left it hanging from the overhead handrail..walked off the train at Times Square. Caused a panic..a stampede..several people were injured..
I don’t want to sound like a fuddy-duddy, but I take this stuff seriously.
When I was in school and we had exposure to cadavers or autopsies, it was impressed upon us that these were people who had volunteered and donated their bodies or otherwise given permission where applicable.
They were mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, wives, husbands, and friends to people who loved them very much. They should be treated with respect.
We took it seriously, and these people should have as well. This is poor leadership, the way I see it.
I laughed as hard as anyone at the line in “Animal House” regarding the medical school cadavers and the faculty luncheon, but I just don’t agree with this type of behavior.
“Caused a panic..a stampede..several people were injured..”
Yeah, everybody thinks it’s great fun until somebody looses and eye...arm, penis...
Stupid, but not a crime.
Well, if you sound like a fuddy duddy than so do I. Cadavers donated for science should be shown respect. I’ve known some med students etc.. and they were given a lecture about it. Okay.. it’s a dead body now but at one time.. it was a living human being with family, friends, hopes and dreams. Perhaps I was raised differently.. we were taught to show respect for the dead.
I agree with you. I don’t know why anyone thinks this is funny. She should be in trouble.
