Mike Shanahan stood in a steady rain on a gloomy afternoon in a largely empty, lifeless stadium here Sunday for what is expected to be his final game as coach of the Washington Redskins. Multiple people familiar with the situation said they expect Shanahan to be fired shortly after Sunday’s season finale against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.

Skins fire Shanahan! Browns hire him as soon as the ink is dry! But Cleveland won’t. They are the dumbest team in the NFl. Pass on Alex Smith stick with 30 yr. old freshman Weeden who can’t throw. That’s what happens when you mortgage the future to get one player, that guy you gave up 4 draft picks to get becomes the whole of your team. It’s funny that year after year after year the teams that will be in contention are the ones that trade to GET draft picks not GIVE, and yet 3/4 of the league is more than willing to give away draft picks in that desperate quest to get the “missing link”. If you want to know who will be good next year the first thing to look at is how many draft picks they have, any team sitting on 10 or more will be good.

He’s getting paid, and he’s passed up a lot of jobs, better jobs. I think it’s just the rumor mill, or maybe he heads up Snyder’s wish list.
True, Snyder is a lousy owner.
But, in his defense [recently], he got screwed by “exceeding” the salary cap in the non-salary cap year. This has prevented him from going after quality free agents [at a decent price] for the last 3 years.
So, in his infinite wisdom, he thinks that he can trade away draft picks to get the next unproven “Golden Boy” [RG III] - and that the player will compensate for the lack of personnel ...
WRONG !!!
I think top draft picks are way overrated.
