Georgia Mother Banned From Daughter’s School for Posting Pic of Her Gun Permit on Facebook

An Augusta, GA mother is now banned from her disabled daughter’s school simply because she posted a picture of her weapons permit on Facebook.

The reason for this no trespassing order sent from the school is simply ridiculous. Simply because the woman served her country in the Army and now has a weapons permit, the principal sees her as a danger and threat to the school.

According to WRDW, “I feel like a criminal. I want I want to be heard. I want a public apology,” says Mount. On Wednesday, Mount says she was handed a notice from Richmond County Board of Education police.

“He tells me that were going to issue you a criminal trespass warning,” says Mount. The notice banned her from McBean Elementary School where her disabled daughter attends.

She asked what she did wrong. “The principal is scared of you and she doesn’t want you on the grounds. I ask for what? And he asks were you in the Army and I said yes. He’s like do you have a concealed weapons permit? I said yes,” says Mount. Mount who is a parent volunteer says she is banned from the school for posting a picture of her new concealed weapons permit on her Facebook page.

Why do people put such stupid things on Facebook. That is the dumbest thing I have heard. I guess I need to break out the college transcripts from 1991 and post them on Facebook. What the heck are people thinking????? I have Facebook page but don’t put anything on the page that give any information about myself.

Most modern teachers and educators are retards. That statement is not meant to insult persons with Trisomy 21.

Ruh roh. I’m supposed to vote tomorrow in my daughter’s elementary school, and its parent teacher conference day. Better get the permit out of the diaper bag in case I’m searched.

While her daughter may have "special needs," it sounds like the principal is "mentally ill," quite possibly a paranoid schizophrenic and probably shouldn't be allowed around children.

I've got a cousin who suffers from that condition, and he's terrified of police officers, because they might shoot him.

If she was what they claim to believe she is, she would have shot the school cop who gave her the notice. What kind of hazardous duty pay does he get for that?

Thank you. Not that I'm real sensitive about it, but I do have a two year old son with Downs Syndrome. He is wonderful, and brings out the opposite feelings in me from what a typical bureaucrat does.
I just appreciate you being kind enough to think of little ones like mine.
My feeling is that a lot of people in society abort babies with DS simply because of the fear of how people will treat them.
We home-school all our kids, but we haven't had any problems with bad treatment with our youngest.

Are you all noticing how certain groups now consider veterans to be dangerous or high risk? Is this the new dem talking point?

Chris Kovac (sp?), Kansas Sec of State, has asked the KS attorney for a ruling since many poling places are normally places where firearms are not allowed, however in most municipal facilities, firearms ARE allowed.

Kovac (sp?) is of the belief that since these poling places are leased by the counties, then during the polling hours, they should be governed by the municipal standards, allowing firearms.
