Today's feature is my favorite of the American made James Bond knockoff/imitation films of the 1960s. A fun spy spoof of its time but also an amazingly prophetic time capsule in the sense that its plot ideas of women running the world, nuclear weapons in outer space and most memorable of all(Flint's comment: "An actor as president?!") all came true. TV's Batgirl has a memorable cameo as a most attractive Russian ballerina named Natasha.

Another fun spy spoof from that time period is “Deadlier Than The Male” with Richard Johnson. I posted it a few mfasas back-

The Flint watch is a great spoof on Bond’s spy gizmos.

Especially his lighter. “This has 82 different functions. 83 is you wish to light a cigar.”

People these days are not so familiar with original expression that led to the title of this movie: "In like Flynn".

Cool. Drive-in or regular theater? Did it meet your expectations?

Indeed. When I first watched it on tv as a child, I had no idea what the title was supposed to mean. That’s a good link. Ironically, I think since 1967, more people are probably familiar with the term “In Like Flint” than “In Like Flynn”.

I have this on my iTunes library. Watched it as a kid back in the day.

Love his watch.
And his taste in babes.

Our Man Flint and In Like Flint along with the Matt Helm movies are some of my favorites.

Derek Flint was the ultimate ladies man.

My cell phone ringtone is the Flint phone hotline.

I remember these. Wasn’t the first one called ‘Our Man Flint’?

In the same parody genre of In Like Flint (1967), you might like to check out:

Our Man Flint (1966)

The President’s Analyst (1967) (also very prescient)

The four Dean Martin, “Matt Helm” movies,

The Silencers (1966)
Murderers’ Row (1966)
The Ambushers (1967)
The Wrecking Crew (1969)

Modesty Blaise (1966)

(The totally bizarre) Casino Royale (1967)

And, while only half-spy and half-parody, what would such a list be without the amazing:

Danger: Diabolik (1968)

Correct. Hollywood had more creativity in its titles back then. Today it would probably have been called “Our Man Flint II”.

Flint: “Last year’s book....already out of date....”
Flint’s boss: “When do you find time to read?”
Flint: “Read? I wrote this...”
