I'm sick of media in general, especially television and talk radio. Free Republic and Wall Street Journal are about my only sources of news these days.

This summer, I've pretty much had the television shut off. I've read a lot of books on my Kindle and on my laptop, I can stream the occasional movie or TV show from Netflix or Hulu.

The media endlessly pushing certain stories and repeating, repeating, repeating the same things such as the Zimmerman case, the plane crash in San Fran, somebody saying a word they are censoring, mocking S. Palin and M. Bachman, anything about Kardashians, etc.

Yet important stories such as about Benghazi, B. Obama's ineptness, etc. are ignored.

In light of recent events, I’m also sick of celebrities who employ publicists to keep their names in as many papers, magazines, and web sites as possible in an effort to game the ratings/box office/music sales system suddenly demanding privacy whenever they encounter misfortune. If they truly want privacy they’re going about it the wrong way. I’m also sick of drugs and booze rehab stories being used as yet more fodder for the PR mill. Finally, I’m sick of every cute, healthy-looking starlet looking like a zombie within a year while we are told that the starlet has been on a tough workout routine, is now a vegan, etc. when in reality the starlet has cashed a large paycheck and has been snorting up half of Bolivia.

Yes, while most people come here to read regurgitated news and made up news, have single sided discussions with people who think like them, there are a few of us who actually peruse FR for original ideas and original thinking -- at least on our better days.
