Birthday President G.W.Bush cousin to Obama, & Cheney & Romney too! Are we already under a Dynasty?

I certainly miss having a President I can respect and admire without holding my hands over my eyes. Former President George W. Bush turns 67 today! Like many conservatives, I wish he was still president, maybe just under the guidance of someone other than a certain Karl Rove, who discouraged President Bush from pushing back on the incredible level of disrespect the left dumped on him for eight long years. I can only wonder what it means that this many influential people are from the same family line? It's amazing when you think about it all, but quite true. The Bush family is related to Obama, they are cousins 11 times removed. I already knew that the Bush's were related to John Kerry. I recall thinking during the 2004 campaign, how can Kerry be so cruel to his cousin? However, I figured that the potential power of holding the presidency would easily trump any flimsy family ties. All I can figure is wealthy families tend to marry other wealthy families, so the money remains somewhat concentrated within certain professions and certain organizations run by those families. Still, It's a little disconcerting, to be more or less 'owned' and utilized by just a few family lines, even today. I think the 'most friendly and trustworthy' John Huntsman is also related to the Romney line. And the beat goes on.

If you have family dating to colonial times chances are you are related to others who can date that far. I am related to Bush through the Bollings, who happened to be a most fertile family.

Heck, we're probably all cousins 11 times removed. Or maybe even 10.

Uh, no, we’re not under a family dynasty even if several leading politicians are distant cousins. Being somebody’s 11th cousin does not a dynasty make.

The worst dynasty we are under is that of a ruling elite. It wouldn’t matter if none of them were related, or if all of them were distant cousins. The problem is that the little people in America have been taken over by a distant elite that is running roughshod over “we the people”.

Hope you’re wearing your nomex suit.

GW moved us closer to the left and closer to totalitarianism. Wish I could take back my first vote for him.

I think there are very few people here who had no problems with GWB and what he did. Patriot Act. Idiot SCOTUS attempted appointment. DHS. TSA, and officerizing glorified baggage handlers - and now molesters. On Obama’s request beginning QE1.

You can be related to anyone on Earth at around 40th cousin, so 11th cousin isn't impressive.

What could the second sentence possibly have to do with the first?

You'd have to ignore a whole lotta the last decade, from Chief Justice Roberts to expanding Medicare to the immigration debacle to the cronyism to "compassionate conservative" to showing Obama you don't actually have to enforce laws to... well, to any number of things, really, if you wanted to "respect" George W. Bush.

We are all suffering from universal suffrage. I am sick of all the populist BS that believes that the same low information sheeple who brought us Obama are not representative of the popular will. They ARE the popular will which is the problem.

Yeah, and don’t forget when he slammed those brave American Patriot volunteers, ‘The Minutemen’, who were trying to protect our southern border, ‘Vigilantes’. Or that the muzzies were just really a ‘Religion of Peace’ comment of his. Good God.

11?! Seriously?! That is an extraordinarily distant relationship.

Pick two random people on the street. They’re typically at most 7 times removed.

And he’s coming out in favor of the current version of “immigration reform”, the amnesty BS he couldn’t get passed.

We have Obama as president because voters were reacting to the disastrous presidency of Bush.

I am sure that we can review Mark Twain’s suggestion to ‘enlarge’ the franchise, giving extra votes to those who have more money, or more college degrees and have a little laugh.

There are a lot of posters that I think of as being very wrong. I do think that denying them the franchise is probably the wrong path to follow, as it can be used against good people as much as it can be used against bad people, and perhaps more.

For what ever it is worth, and I am not bragging - I can trace my “lineage” back to John and Priscilla, who arrived on the Mayflower, many moons ago.

So what, big freaking deal!

It doesn’t make me any more worthy a human being than the latest legal immigrant, who went through far more paperwork and hassles, than my forbears ever had to endure, to obtain his/her citizenship!

Me and thousands of John and Pricilla’s other descendants, wanted a better life, and we are the beneficiaries of their bravery - to risk the high seas and the difficulties of crossing the Atlantic, to face an untamed wilderness. So those of us who can trace our ancestry back to them have nothing to brag about.

Would we now take that risk?

Striking out for the “new world” wasn’t for the faint of heart then, so why now do we coddle newcomers as if they are incompetent, unable to care for themselves, learn the language, adapt to our laws and freedoms, so needing endless generations of our tax-payer support.

Why are we now so worried, afraid, intimidated, trying to figure out how to find a way to escape the tracking of the IRS, FBI, ATF, TSA, NSA, HSA, and assorted other alphabet agencies.

It took John and Priscilla no more courage than it took the MacPhersons, O’Brians, Napolitanos,Eckstroms, Phaths, etc. & any of the other immigrants from foreign lands who came to AMERICA so they could be free. But, our government cripples the newcomers, instead of giving them the freedom we all enjoyed, to strive on our own. So the “helping hand of liberalism strikes again”, enslaving and suffocating them, then turning them to the dark side of learning how to manipulate the “system”.

All left their homeland, praying for a better, freer future. I am ashamed of how their hopes for the future are being destroyed by our non-sensical government fallacies, and our citizens failing to comprehend the difference between teaching a man to fish, versus giving him a plastic card, so he can get in line to claim his daily fish once he gets to the .gov “fish window”. (and we all know those fish stink, because of all the many hands they have to go through.)

I respect all legal, whether they be Welsh, Scots, Irish, Italians, Germans, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Koreans, etc, for they all came here for a better life.

A life where they could work hard, exercise their talents, and raise their children to strive harder and higher to become everything they could attain.

Grandsons of illiterate immigrants have graduated from MIT, Harvard, Stanford with honors.

We forget that only little more than half a century ago that many bright and talented people left school in the third grade, or the eighth grade. They were needed to work, to help their families get ahead.

Many of them, despite a lack of formal schooling, used their talents, lived good lives, created solid businesses, and raised intelligent and productive families, and children who fulfilled their dreams.

They are just as much as worthy of honor and recognition as those of us who came a bit earlier, for all of our immigrant parents hoped that hard work would offer a better life for their children and grandchildren.

That said - our present immigration policy is sentencing illegals to failure, and I just can’t wrap my head around what our elected idiots are trying to accomplish.

We now live in “interesting times”, where we must be careful about what we say, right?
