> Happened after being in the airport and using free WiFi.

Because someone was sniffing the network, and ether captured your logon ID/pwd or they dup’d your cookie. This is script-kiddy stuff.

If you use public networks you MUST use a VPN or you will get f’d. PERIOD.

> Yes, I see that someone mentioned I-cloud. My problem was before I-cloud and Safari, not the same thing at all.

I’ve never used i-Cloud. Turned it off the day I got my phone. I knew the damage it could cause if it backed up my phone online and so done hacked the account.

I’ve never used i-Cloud. And to those with the cute iCloud comments, I’ve been messing with computers since the early 80’s so i know a thing or two about them; how to build them and troubleshoot them and about syncing and about tecnology in general. I turned off all the iCloud settings the day I got the phone. I knew the damage it could cause if I backed up my phone online and someone hacked the account. I do work in a sensitive industry so i dont need a snoop online looking. I used to be that guy years ago but thats old history. I’m not paranoid just checking to if anyone else on here has experienced the same thing. If this is happening all over then I think I know what’s happening.

About 1950 ( I was too young to know the date) my grandfather was accused of being a communist by the heads of the CIO. He had been elected the first president of the electrical workers and machinists at RCA and the powers that existed at the time were extremely unhappy with his election. The main problem seems to have been over the racist hiring policies of the unions. My grandfather was not a racist and the Electrical workers and Machinists were considered the most racist union in the country. In 1949, they tried to kill him by running him down as he stood on the curb in front of his house. RCA responded by closing the plant and the people of Camden County responded by electing my grandfather to the State Assembly. He only served one term because the CIO accused him of being a communist and reported him to the HUAC. The FBI followed him the rest of his life, opened all his mail and talked to everyone who knew him, including at his church where he was a deacon. (communists were not permitted to attend church, let alone be deacons). My mother lived the rest of her life in fear of the government.

I know, its unbelievable, but my husband always thinks that I am a conspiracy theorist. He just was thinking that it had nothing to do with him. He didn’t believe me when I told him that I was banned from posting on the WSJ because they didn’t like my conservative point of view, either. He just kept saying that thy don’t care what you say, but they did and the woman at the help desk admitted it.

Oh, that is a different story, much more like what I experienced. When my problem first started, we were using Comcast and then when the problems escalated we had Hughes net, but with the same computer. They already had the all the numbers and information that they needed.

Like I said before, I do know how it old be done but it would require having access to the account from within the telco. It doesnt really threaten me because I know the mindset if it is a hacker and what little good it would do them because I’m not doing anything illegal and have nothing to worry about. Fear of of the unknown (to the target) is their main weapon.

I just wondered why two pages that I accessed on my work computer suddenly opened up on Safari on my cellphone. Mind you these were not web pages you could accidentally key in. They were long web page addresses that pertaiined to data sources I use to do research. I’m going to look into this using some inside contacts to see if they’ve heard anything.

Being under surveillance isn't fun.

Idiots that claim they don't care because they have done nothing wrong and have nothing to hide would be the first to go completely nuts with someone watching their every move.

They would be so overcome with fear they wouldn't be able to function in the real world.

The “I have nothing to hide crowd” also doesn't understand sooner or later they have to justify the expense of dogging you for your every move and then they will just create a crime.

In my case they tried planting dope in my truck.

Lucky I found it. I'm not sure, but I believe a guy that worked for US Customs may have been the one that save my bacon by putting a box of empty beer cans in back of my truck so I would find the dope when I cleaned the beer cans out.

I've tried telling people what it's like living in what can only be described as a police state but they didn't want to listen.

Now people are learning the hard way.

I figured it was something like this.

It’s not like I do internet banking at the airport, and I went ahead and changed my password when I got home.
