Seem wierd, Subaru is traditionally LIBERAL and I am Uber-Conservative. We LOVE it thus far(220 Miles on it as of this morning).

A few years ago Car & Driver described 4-speed automatics as “the Powerglide of the 21st century.” That said, I’d still take a 4-speed slushbox over a CVT.

I started noticing around 1986 that lesbians seemed to like Subaru’s but thought I was the only one who had noticed.

It must be pretty wide spread among the leftist and sexually deviant.

I had a 2011. Good car except watch out in snow if yours came with the Bridgestones. They were fine until they had about 15000 miles on them. I got lots of great recommendations on here for bumper stickers for my Nissan Leaf. I just have the God Bless America ribbon right now. Afraid of some idiot lib keying my car. I did add some military aircraft stickers (Beware of Blast, Jet Fuel Only, Armament) just to make it more macho. I get a new car about every 2 years. So far “Froggy” the electric car is the best car I have ever owned.

Hopefully it won't look like this:

Political? It's easier to think of race, gender, and class.

And BTW, if sales has you pegged, don't let them dishonor you, just prove 'em wrong and show you have the plastic power to purchase that mower.

“Yes this is my Subaru.
No I am not a Liberal!”

I love the Forester. I’ve owned 2. I’d buy another in a heart-beat.

Not great mileage, not too quiet, but handles like anything, even in snow.

Quick story: Took it out with fresh tires at night in Fargo, ND. The streets had a sheet of ice covered with 4” of fresh snow. I took the Forester up to 35 MPH, purposefully put it into a 45 degree skid at 35 MPH, and accelerated out of it onto a 90 degree left hand turn road. It accelerated right where I pointed the wheels, and I took it up to 40 MPH as I was skidding through the turn onto the next road.

Wow.

Dittoes. I test drove a 2010 Subie Outback a few years back. It had a 4 cylinder engine with a CVT. I was appalled at what a dog that was! The engine/transmission would whine and rev - but it would never shift.

What a joke.

Too bad they refuse to address the head gasket issue, considering the aftermarket ones used in repairs will last twice as long as the OEM. That repair is a guaranteed $2500-$3000 bill before 150K miles.

Mrs. Peet and I have a Forester (with an NRA sticker on it) and both of us are conservative.

Subaru is a good, CHEAP all-wheel drive car — ours is great (exclamation marks!) in the snow. In fact, both of our mail ladies have Subarus for the hilly and poorly plowed area we live in.

Couple things: DO NOT USE THE HANDBRAKE IN COLD WEATHER! Make sure regular maintenance includes lubricating the brake-caliper yokes (the part where the two parts slide against each other.

One last thing: If the Y-pipe ever breaks, throw the car away — it is REALLY expensive.

I always found Mazda’s to be a bit “tinny”. Until 2010 they shared platforms with Ford. According to “Car and Driver” the CX5 is very underpowered, but they picked it over all other competitors. The ride, according to them, was stiff and sporty, unlike the others. They liked the view and considered the interior sparse. They considered it a very good every day small SUV. They did have some quality issues that the dealer repaired.

My daughter had a Protégé and despite her best efforts, she could not kill it.

Depends on where you live I suppose. In this rural mountainous county there are more Subarus than not. All four wheel drive stuff. There is only one Obamabot around these parts bad he doesn’t own one. My only fault with them is ground clearance but the Forester has more than the sedan. I drive the AWD Santa Fe. Love it.

Umm...maybe put a stucker in support of traditional marriage in addition to the NRA sticker. That model Subaru isn’t just favored by liberals. Google lezmobile.

Add a Gadsden flag bumper sticker, some support our troops things, “Freedom isn’t Free”... some great USMC saying, a Reagan quotation..... you get the drift. People will not mistake you for a liberal.

I think these are made in Lafayette Indiana by NON union workers. Good Choice Absolutely put your NRA sticker on. I also have FUBO stickers on my vehicle.
